Idk what some one was saying it isnt the exact size of the old ide cable but its does fit and it works just need to fold it up right 2 or 3 trys i got mine in had 1 break pulling it out out of like 5 of them( As of 12/14/2018) I ordered probably my 5th or 6th one a few days ago it was like half the size and want 80 wire any more because it did not power my sata HDD. Replaced got the same thing checked AISN same as the Old one thats not how ASIN works really upset put me back over a week now!!! ordered a different cable as well so lucky it will be here on time for Xmass, and yes i tried different drives i have that is known to work 1 star for the product change i dont know if its any other store but the 1 click buy mandyyan store cut a corner and will no longer be my suppler

Best Feature is the cable wrap at the two ends - prevents failures due to stress. Although not included in listing, I measure about 16" between extremes without stretching. Don't like the plugs in the pin beside the center connector unless someone explains why. Keys prevent reversal, and the presence of the plugs prevents using on some applications unless you drill the plug out or use a hot paper clip.These cable jacket has a feel of "plastic", like those that feel like rubber better.Would like to see option for 24" length.

Bought this for a SATA upgrade for the Original Xbox. It was short but with some messing around I could connect it all - barely. Problem was when I turned on the Xbox the DVD drive wasn’t registering. Turns out there weren’t any pins installed in the gray connector. It just slid up and down the cable. Tore it apart to confirm. Junk. I’ve been had.

This is not a 24" cable. In fact its even shorter than the original xbox ide cable. Also, the gray connector has no contacts in it, you can slide it up and down the cable to any spot you wish, do not buy!

wanted to use this in an xbox. It is several inches shorter, and I could not find a way for it to work.

I can't write a review about this time. I got a defective cable from the get go. Or the cable didn't like the bed that was needed for it to do for to work in a Original Xbox system.

Installed in Xbox and it would not register the CD drive. Removed the cable and middle 40 pin connector would slide up and down the cable. The pin connecter was missing.

The middle connector on both cables that I ordered were not even connected. They were clipped on but they slide up and down the cable. Totally useless.

I read the bad reviews, decided to take a gamble and give it a go anyway because it was prime shipping, huge mistake.First of all, this was to mod an OG XBox. The cable isn't long enough to plug into the XBox even with all trays set to their initial position laying in the XBox, and on top of that, the middle pin connector wasn't even connected to the cable! It was loose and simply just there for decoration, rendering this cable utterly useless. If you'd buy this for an old PC you would only get one working connector instead of two (If the cable even works, 'cause I couldn't even test if it worked since it was too short to reach my components)I got one locally at a computer specialized shop for 2.50$, quarter the price of this junker. It's longer, built better and works.I don't know what the Q/A department of the manufacturer of these cables are smoking, but clearly they should lay off the stuff.Don't be dumb like me, listen to the reviews, and avoid like the black plague.

The ribbon is totally useless, if you have something to connect in the middle. That middle connector just SLIDES UP AND DOWN THE RIBBON. No perforation whatsoever. And judging by the amount of comments, the seller should know this.

Don't buy this cable if you want to install a SATA HDD in your xbox, it just doesn't work. One of the connector isn't even wired properly (if at all) and you won't be able to boot anything from the DVD drive. The system with either say empty or unknown disc. (My discs work just fine with the original xbox ide cable) . Not recommended.

I ordered 3 of these cable, and all three have the slave connector not actually attached to the cable at all. Same as the other review. They are totally useless.0 stars, do not buy, look elsewhere.
