Actually fits the NES Controller Port
I found these were being released on July 15th, 2020. Exactly what I wanted and works flawlessly!! Pre-ordered a pair of these controllers for my original NES hardware. The wireless adapter fits **NICE AND SNUG** into the ports on the console. The connection was automatically established once plugged in the wireless adapter, I turned on the NES, and pressed start on the controller. I immediately put in the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out cartridge (my go-to for these sort of response/lag tests) and went straight to the Mike fight. These controllers ARE FLAWLESS. NO LAG that I experienced, my dodges, punches, and jabs were on point. Tested from 3, 7, 10, and about 15ft. from the NES console......perfect. No complaints here! If you're looking for a perfect solution in a wireless controller to your old NES console, look no more. The 2.4G Wireless option is MUCH BETTER than any of the Bluetooth controllers controllers, hardly any lag that's noticeable. Each package comes comes with 1 controller and 1 wireless adapter, an instruction sheet, and 1 USB charging cable (you will need to plug this into an other USB power source, I don't think the original NES controller ports supply the correct voltage/amps to charge the controllers from the wireless adapter plugged into in the NES console. Nor are there any USB ports on the wireless adapter). The battery is built-in and is a 180mAh Li-on battery that claims about 18 hours of play from full charge. Controller has an auto-save feature that turns off in one minute with no connection and 15 minutes if connected but no input from the controller. No information that I can see on what type of USB power source is needed, but I tested it connected to a standard USB port (not mini, micro, or USB-C) on my computer, an Apple iPhone USB Power Adapter, and the USB ports on my APC Surge Protector Stripe, all charged the controllers without issue.Sidenote: I had just returned a pair of Hyperkin "Cadet" Premium BT Controller for NES before seeing these were coming out. Those controllers' wireless adapters (even though advertised as they do) do NOT fit in original Front Loader NES consoles. They barely fit in halfway and go in and out of making connections with with the 7-pins of the NES's controller ports. Stay away from them and go with these. 100% what you're looking for.

It actually works!
I've been bit several times by retro controllers claiming to be low latency, including by 8bitdo's Bluetooth-based options. But this one has so little lag that I can actually forget I'm using a wireless controller and just enjoy playing. More importantly, the latency is actually consistent, and doesn't spike at random or lead to dropped inputs. To help with comparison: I'm using it from ~8ft away on a RetroUSB AVS, and I live in a small apartment complex with ~13 WiFi signals in range. The controller itself is good for the price. The d-pad is plenty precise, though I do feel like I have to be a bit more careful than on an original NES controller. The buttons feel good. Start and select are a bit squidgy as is the tradition, but they're fine. I like having the turbo buttons available for occasional use, and I never found myself accidentally triggering them the rest of the time. The aesthetics and build quality are in line with other 8bitdo products.

The best NES controller I’ve ever used!
I just got a pair of these babies in today, and put one of them through its paces on my AVS. Now, the fatal flaw of 8BitDo’s previous NES30 Bluetooth model was the garbage D-pad, so I tested it on my D-pad litmus test games Bomberman 2 and Ms. Pac-Man. The D-pad passed with beyond flying colors, in fact it actually managed to do really well with Ms. Pac-Man, VERY responsive and accurate, so much so that I almost didn’t wish I using a proper arcade joystick instead, which of course I always do when I’m playing Pac-Man games on home systems; needless to say I did not remotely expect that! This D-pad is the absolute best I’ve ever used on an NES controller, combining the accuracy of the micro-switched RetroUSB AVS controller D-pad with the more comfortable feel of the membraned OEM NES controller D-pad. My only minor quibble is that it’s a shade too true to the OEM brick aesthetic, because the brick is still not that comfortable to hold for extended periods of time; my ideal controller would be the (IMO) superior, more ergonomic outer design of the RetroUSB controller and the more comfortable D-pad and buttons of the N30 controller. But since that isn’t possible, I would highly HIGHLY recommend the N30, one of the two best wireless NES controllers you can get, and less than half the price of the RetroUSB controller. I also highly recommend the other best one, the RetroUSB controller, if you want a much more comfortable fit for your hand and don’t mind shelling out the extra dosh. Personally, I’m glad I have two of each.
