I have attempted to smoke pork shoulders on my Weber gas grill many times. The problem is keeping the temperature low enough for slow cooking but hot enough to keep the wood chips smoldering. No Beuno! Those are mutually exclusive events. This smoker solves the problem. It produces abundant smoke independently of the grill. It is also simple to use. Pour in chips, light it and instant smoke, no waiting. When you don't want anymore smoke just turn it off and it self extinguishes in a few minutes. A real benefit for grilling burgers, fish or anything that cooks much faster. It adds smokiness to any food within a few minutes. As a result, I use it every time I light my grill.It works by using a small air pump like you would find on a fish tank. The pump creates a vacuum on the canister with the wood chips and pumps the smoke out of a tube placed in the grill. The vacuum draws fresh air over the wood chips to keep them smoldering for as long as you want. Turn it off and it goes out. The chips light with a lighter as quickly as lighting a cigarette.I found, fully loaded with small wood chips it lasted about 4-5 hours before needing more chips on a low setting. Pellets or larger chips may last longer but 5 hours was plenty good for me.I found this a much better solution than purchasing a separate smoker costing many times the price. The cheapest, low quality smoker is still significantly more expensive and doesn't work as well.The only thing unusual is it uses a USB-C power source to power the pump to produce the smoke. If you want to use it where there is no electricity you need a battery to power it. I suppose with an adapter you could use your cell phone but I don't know how much it would drain the battery.In summary I highly recommend it!

Caution on size of wood chips! It worked as stated. Lots of smoke! Id still buy one knowing this. It quit blowing the smoke as I was using it only because after shutting down and cooling it to empty the tube I found a partially burnt large wood chips blocking the holes in the bottom. Im going to try pellets next time. Im not giving up yet! The time used did give a medium smoke flavor.

I have had many smokers over the years and after a while they have broke or rusted out. With this little machine I can bring it inside and put it in the pantry when not using it and it takes up very little space. Easy to use and puts out my favorite Pecan smoke at my desire. Love this thing and the best part is it just hooks up to my bbq! Very happy so far.

The media could not be loaded. What a great purchase..I have a gas grill and this produced wonderful smoke. With the hopper full it ran over 5 hours. By the way, I run it off a small solar panel that has a USB port on it (normally runs a muffin fan)..the pipe fits through the rotisserie hole. They give you a long piece of tubing in case you need to put it away from the grill. It cleans out easily, as there are removable plugs. And an extra chamber to collect the tar..great buy

Got this and was excited to try it out. It works as advertised but is not built to last. I’ve had to replace two fittings that broke and the power cord quit working.

Update - Changing my review to 5 stars. I contacted the company via email. I received a response within 1 day. They issued a replacement and have forwarded the issue to their engineering team to see if they can improve this weak spot. I continue to be very satisfied with the ease of use and volume of cold smoke this product generates. Now I am also very satisfied with the after-sale support they provide!BTW, I agree with the review about the sticky black tar-like liquid that is produced due to the burning wood chips and pellets. I do not think this is a unique problem with this device. I recommend wearing plastic gloves while cleaning the unit over several sheets of newspaper. I would love to hear about a better solution to this, but I am still very pleased with this cold smoker!Original Review - Second time using the smoker and the brass connector holding the air pump hose to the smoker tube broke off. Amazon says I am 2 days out of the return window, and I can not find a way to contact the seller to see if they will replace the broken part. The smoker works well, but the brass connector is not strong, and seems to have weakened by just the heat generated by the smoker tube. Would give a top rating if I can get some help!

The media could not be loaded. Awesome design. First run video was temporary I'll mount the entire device to the side of the smoker and cut tubing to give a more direct entry too smoker. Operates and puts out wonderful cool smoke. Operates perfectly on wood pellets. The weighted cover is a real improvement over more expensive designs and the secondary smoke tube really cleans the bitter tar out of the smoke. The power cord that came with it failed within two minutes
