Excellent Budget 4K UHD monitor for gaming consoles.
Owning a Xbox One X, getting a decent 4K UHD screen that has a low input lag (time lag between console image transmission to actual screen display) is essential. Especially if one plays any kind of game with very fast moving images, that also requires fast reactions. One need only look at your 4K UHD TV options to know that the best ones cost a fortune compared to the cost of a Xbox One X (or PS4 Pro). Moreoever, the budget TVs are not without their significant caveats. Namely, significant input lag and low native frame rates of 50Hz.This is where this adequately sized and reasonably priced BenQ monitor comes in.Being a 32 inch, 4K UHD monitor, which is natively 60Hz, with an excellent input lag of just 1ms, this has performed excellently for gaming, and for 4K movies alike. It produces crisp and clear images at 4K resolution, and it's HDR function showcases a wider variety of contrast. However, it's HDR function has limited options to adjust while in HDR mode; which is arguably not that significant if you received a model with the latest firmware. There are essentially a high brightness and low brightness setting for this, and generally speaking, I would recommend the low brightness setting, as the high brightness setting tends to display reds/orange colours a bit too brightly. The other limitation are its internal speakers, which one should never use; the speakers are terrible. This is easily mitigated by picking up a set of external speakers, such as simple £20 Logitech speakers that will phenomenally improve your sound experience, or better yet, a soundbar with a remote control to allow you to change the volume as necessary from your own seat. One could also connect this to a surround sound system, but a bigger and better TV would be suggested for that.Having connected this monitor to my Xbox One X, and using the console as my all in one media device (as it was originally designed to be), I can say that this is easily the best value for money 4K UHD screen that functions not only as a 4K TV for me, but as an excellent monitor for gaming and 4K movies.I would absolutely recommend this as the best value budget choice, for anyone with a 4K gaming console, needing a reasonably priced screen to fully utilise the capabilities of their console, without burning a hole in your wallet.

With features like eye care technology and HDR, it’s a pleasure to spend hours watching 4K content or browsing the internet or doing office work. This monitor pairs perfectly with my Apple Mac Mini and my Windows PC, making it a versatile addition to my setup. Good value at this end of the market.
Bought to replace my previous BENQ 27" low blue light monitor whose pixels faded after nine years' heavy lifting for photography editing and working from home. The positives and negatives:1. Really easy to get out of the well-packed (but not excessive) box, plug in and install. Laptop and dock picked up everything automatically so almost no fiddling about. Adjusted itself to screen resolution.2. Controls intuitive and easy to find and adjust to the various colour combos, e.g. cinema, game, photo, standard and HDR and low blue light.3. Well supplied with all the basic connection cables needed.4. Tested out with some hefty .tif and .raw files from Photoshop - no issues here and colour accuracy fairly good - I fiddled about with minor colour alterations to test.5. Stand has 15" footprint - not of itself an issue, but it slopes slightly downwards which is a little irritating as I'm used to propping small notebooks and pens at the bottom.6. Bevel acceptable for the price, though I'm annoyed this forms part of the screen measurement.7. There is a headphone plug which I haven't bothered using: the speaker quality is, as pointed out by other posters, really awful, but I will be using my bluetooth headphones.8. Seems to perform quite well in daylight - nice matt surface, no reflection.9. No plans to mount it on a wall yet; however, this would need a very robust bracket for the weight, and perhaps the product info material should recommend a minimum spec.10. I don't game but the monitor will need to double as my TV screen. No complaints here.Overall, for the price, good value for money, does most of what it says on the tin, here's hoping it can stand up to the next 8-9 years!

Love it!
Purchased this 28" 4k from BenQ to go with a new Mac mini. Out of the box was easy to assemble the stand and simple attachment to the screen. The stand is weighty, so feels tough. On connecting to the Mac, and figuring it out, I found the display quality is amazing and there is a button on the front changes that changes the HD quality higher still. The built in speakers are handy, but when the monitor is connected to the Mac and chosen as sound output, it does render the Mac/keyboard volume and brightness keys redundant. But it does have a cool tiny joystick menu control on the back to adjust volume/settings down, plus a remote control.I hope this monitor lasts because I don't want another, it's excellent and will be more than capable for ages. I think the value was great, the only downside is energy efficiency/usage is quite high, but it is doing a lot.Brilliant.
