One of the best Atari controler
Great controler, very confortable on the hands. It works well I didn't feel any lagging while playing. If you are looking for a great controler for your atari then don't look further because this is the controler for you.

Good game pad with the added benefit of wireless!
I've been trying to add wireless control options for all of my retro consoles. This game pad works very well with my Atari 2600, 7800, XEGS, and 130XE. d-pad feel good and is responsive. I don't feel like I have to push it hard or to extremes to register a direction. Diagonals are easy to hit but not too easy that I have trouble maintaining a straight line. Buttons are responsive and have a soft click when they are activated. I will likely be purchasing more of these or the wireless CX40 so I have at least one on each machine. I may even give it a try on my 1040 ST and Colecovision. Only thing I would ask the company to add would be turbo buttons or switches.

D-Pad Input Could Be Smoother
It’s good, feels good in your hands & it rarely needs charging & I use it a lot. It does have some issues w/ the D-pad not reacting as fast as I’d like & multi-directional inputs are not always smooth for games like Berzerk or (7800) Ms. Pac-Man, where timing is everything. There aren’t many better choices, so for now this may be the best we have. Also the inclusion of the usb dongle is a nice touch, and its range is 8-10 feet easily. I can’t give it anything better than 3stars, mainly based on the D-Pad inputs, which (again) can prove crippling in games needing diagonal inputs like Dark Chambers.

This product is missing Home, Menu, and Select buttons.
I bought an Atari 400 Mini, it came with a USB THECXSTICK. This product is missing Home, Menu, and Select buttons.Very dissatisfied. But the THECXSTICK isn't sold separately.

For the price, it could be better.
Set up was easy with the Atari 800XL and the build feels solid. However, the d-pad doesn't always register inputs correctly. I've seen this mentioned on a few YouTube reviews. Many times when pushing right, my charter would move up instead. Very frustrating when I was playing Ms. Pac-Man and Frogger. Also the d-pad is very stiff (I may need more time to break it in).

Cheap garbage
Cash grab to play on the Retrogaming hype. Directional pad is mushy and not precise, with or without the thumbstick. Thumbstick is plastic and screw hole is metal - really?! My thumbstick broken after a few uses. The buttons provide little feedback and also mushy - I would not buy these “new” device again - the manufacturer is not taking the time to make a quality product and just pushing out garbage. You are better off with those smaller independents and hobbyists that make quality products.
