Great little book. Full of very useful advise aimed at the complete beginner. I would advise anyone looking to start MiG welding to invest in this publication.

A very useful little book BUT needs updating to include gasless welding I feel.

I love this book. I purchased it many, many years ago and, coming across it by chance, recently re-read it. It has everything that a first-timer needs to know. It’s practical and doesn’t weigh you down with unnecessary information. These days most beginners may opt for a gassless MIG welder, which is not covered in the book, but all the beginner needs to know is that the inert gas is substituted by a flux in the core of the wire, and that’s it. No bottled gas needed. With that knowledge onboard, the book is as relevant today as when first published and well worth the purchase.When I first made this purchase I received a note from the author. Having had no previous association we discovered - to our astonishment - that his parents had purchased my parents old family home. What are the chances of that! Chris, I assume that old association is now sadly lost in time, but should you ever get to read this, I send you my best wishes.
