Handy gadget
This is a great and critical gadget if you have old equipment, made before HDMI was common, that you want to connect to a new flat screen. Just the ticket, RCA to HDMI. A simple no brainer to connect.

does the job just not well for me
I have had a sega saturn collecting dust because I had no way to use it with my TV so when I seen this I had to give it a try. This does actually work and will really work with most HDMI TV's but the only issue is the picture quality is too dark and looks a bit odd. Even after fussing with the gamma and brightness I could not get the picture at a comfortable level and it really turned me off from playing. I don't think it was my TV because I tried another and had pretty much the same result. I can't say if it is my console causing the issue because I have no other vintage console I can try it with but I have a feeling it's this device that is the issue.

Use your old devices!
I had been keeping onto a couple of old CRT TVs to be able to play Atari and other old systems. This device supports upscaling so you can go from RCA plugs (red/white/yellow) to HDMI. No need to find an old CRT and take up all of that extra space. This device is compact and has a switch to toggle output between 720 and 1080. It needs power and has a USB cord included. It does not include an HDMI cable or the RCS cables. Set up is easy. Plug your RCA inputs in; plug in your HDMI cable; plug the device into a USB outlet and you're ready to go. It was surprising how quickly and smoothly it works.

Functional, but not great
Tested with a Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast game consoles, and it does work, displaying on my modern HDMI supported television, but there is a lot left to be desired.Notably the picture is super dim, I could only correct this so much by tweaking the tv settings, which on any other source is bright and vibrant with my regular settings. And even with tweaking, it’s still too dark. The picture quality otherwise is in line with my expectations, which isn’t great, there’s only so much you can do with a native 480i or lower signal with bare minimum hardware.Worth a try if you desperately need something that will convert those AV cables of old for a very affordable price, but do not expect any magic.
