The Bellmain 5 qt stainless steel strainer is simply brilliant. It is very well made. Even the ring at the bottom, which lifts the strainer off the bottom of the sink, is well attached. The handles seem firmly attached as well. There is a 5-year warranty should these come loose. But the real magic is in the straining. The mesh allows liquids to pass though immediately. In the competitions' products, it takes a while for the liquids to pass though the holes. I had purchased Oxo strainers in the past. Oxo makes very good products at fantastic prices. But the Bellmain 5 qt stainless steel strainer outperforms Oxo by a wide margin. It is a pleasure to use and performs flawlessly, and 5 quarts is all the capacity I need. The Bellmain 5 qt Strainer is a joy to use.

Wow. Just what I needed! I bought the double pack, one large/one small. After reading an article about how much lead is present in rice, and how cooking it like pasta was the best way to remove it, I started boiling my rice in a tall pasta pot. I regularly cook 2 cups of rice, twice a week. How to drain it from a pasta pot was tricky. I had been using a medium sized mesh strainer, but I needed to do it 3 times to get all the rice out, and it was still wet. This strainer was a godsend. The large one sat solidly in my sink, and a tip of the pot was all I needed to get 99.9% of the rice in, to drain. It drained immediately and completely, no shaking required, and not one cooked grain of medium size Sushi rice fell through the strainer into the sink.I also tried pouring dry rice in the smaller strainer and none fell through the holes. Perfect for pasta, vegetables, whatever. Not perfect for quinoa. (You will need a fine mesh strainer for that. Just imagine the horror of watching 2 cups of dry quinoa flow speedily down the drain.) It is definitely too tall to fit in the dishwasher so you may have to hand-wash, but it cleans up easily.

I love this! It's very sturdy and well balanced. Has not tipped over once! Love the handles and packaged well and shipped quickly!

Drains my pasta and fruit well. Feels low quality-great improvement from my plastic ones in draining and in staying away from chemicals.

This multipurpose colander is exactly as advertised. My photo shows the inside. Multiple tiny holes drain wate a little more slowly than conventional colanders. But you can drain angel hair pasta without it going thru holes or getting stuck. You can strain bone broth leaving tiny bone fragments, etc behind. This product replaces my regular colander, strainer and steamer insert. Highly recommend!

The strainer holes are nice and small, so I am able to strain anything with this and don't have to worry about anything falling through the holes.The handles on the sides make it easy to grip and use, and the stand on the bottom is a game changer. I can leave this in the sink to strain my ingredients while I do other things, and the stand on the bottom keeps the actual strainer itself and the food inside from actually touching the sink or counter, so it's very sanitary.Exactly what I needed and was hoping to find something like this. Not cheaply made, very reasonable price, and very useful.
