They're compact, lightweight, SUPER BRIGHT! They can be set down or hung or even just hand-carried and prive plenty of brilliant white illumination to see what you're doing. Because they're LEDs powered by three AA batteries, the light lasts for hours & hours. They open & close smoothly. Once opened, the light comes on. When closed, the light turns off. The only 'issue' I could see is you need to be easy when screwing the bottom lid back on after installing the batteries. The manufacturer went with a fine thread pattern. If you have a heavy hand, its possible to cross-thread the cap/body threads. So go slow when screwing the battery lid back on. For the money, this is a very bright, very basic LED light suitable for any occasion where light is required. I feel its a smart addition to any pepper kit, camping kit or great just to have around the house.

I bought this mainly for indoor use in case of power outages, but will use it outdoors as well. It throws quite a bit of light, can be hung, and has a built-in flashlight. The material is durable, not flimsy, and the square shape prevents tip-overs. When shopping, I compared the power source and the wattage to similar models, and found this superior in quality and functionality. The selling points were the built-in solar charger to recharge the lantern when camping (or caught in a prolonged power outage) and the c-port for charging my phone, which I find reassuring. In case there's not enough sun to recharge it properly, the hand crank saves the day. But if you have access to power, you can charge it up quickly by plugging it in, so you're ready when the storm hits. Since I'm in an apartment complex, some of the rooms are quite dark without power, so this lantern, with its adjustable light levels, allows customized comfort. I like it so much, I actually just bought an additional pair for some family members who are in a house, as they lose power frequently in winter. I like the bright blue color, but it also comes in several muted tones. Highly reccommend! Full power lights the whole room. Or slide the cover down for a nightlight.

Use camping recently and worked well.

This lantern stays charged on my windowsill, is compact yet gives a very bright light when I pull it up from its base. This would be a great lantern to keep for power outages or to place on a table when camping to eat a meal or play games.

The is small multi functional camping is great. Puts out a lot of light or a small amount of light with the flashlight function. Multiple ways to charge and also a charging station. Lots of value in a small package.

Smaller than expected, but a good product.

Boogstore is selling an improved version of the iconic battery-powered camping lantern. 5K mA h lithium battery is charged by either USB "C" port or the automatic on-board solar panel, or a hand-crank lever. Opening box, my first surprise came with the realization that there was only one lantern in there. The Amazon ad appeared to be showing a pair, as the similar lantern ads on the same page were all multi packs. Perusing the ad again, I admit my mistake, only one lantern offered. My bad. The second surprise was that the lantern arrived dead. zero charge on the 5000 mAh battery. That didn't speak well of the QA department for Boogstore. However, the lantern appeared very well made and, once charged by the USB port, worked flawlessly. This lantern is waterproof and very bright with a dozen or so individual LED lights, and a small flashlight on the bottom edge. The 6" tall 4" wide body has 2 bails attached for hanging purposes. To use the lantern just pull the two sections apart until the desired LED output is attained. I found that this lantern could also charge my cell phone with the included C to A USB cable. All in all, an impressive upgrade for the camping lantern. I will buy more.
