Q: is lard supposed to be strong flavored and overpowering? Thanks

I haven't tried this brand of lard (I reviewed the duck fat). The lard I have tried before was very much like crisco - it was thoroughly rendered, white and not terribly flavorful. Now, having said that - this brand of duck fat is extremely flavorful and it's possible the pork was treated to do the same.

Q: I bought one lard I loved it, but It went bad ( growing mold) in two months. I didn't put in the fridge. any suggestions to keep it longer?

I process my own lard from my own hogs. I keep a quart in the fridge at a time and the rest in the freezer. I keep a half cup tallow in the cupboard as it is hard as nails out of the fridge. I freeze the tallow in one quart containers. The tallow these folks make is awful compared to mine. There's is white and not good flavor and mine is yellow. To end with, I would always keep cold or frozen. good luck. How does their lard taste btw? xo

In a cool dark place 2-3 years. In a regular pantry about a year. I keep mine in the back of the fridge even the unopened ones as it's colder than a basement.

Q: Is the pork lard non hydrogenated?
