Solid recorder, great sound, easy to use. Only complaint is how hard it is to open the battery door.

Awesome piece of kit; battery door could use some improving
Great product; battery door could be better. It's very difficult to remove, very easy to break or lose or incorrectly install.

God Send!
I am often a one man band on shoots and desperately needed a set it and forget it solution. This is that option, not to mention one of the best sounding mics I have ever owned! Will be buying more of these!

Useful devices
Very convenient product. I really appreciate the functionality of it. However, the audio quality is mediocre. The mic included is decent enough but the gain structure of the preamp is lacking. It is very noisy compared to my Sennheisers. I use these devices only when I want the convenience of either a backup audio source or when I might be out of range of the wireless devices I have and want to continue recording. Which leads me to another complaint- once the app loses track of the device, you often simply lose the audio or sync. You can let it continue to run "wild" but once you resync the device on the app (and you are still recording because you need to do that) then it often turns the recording off. I have four of these devices (and five Sennheisers G series) and love the concept and abilities and appreciate them, but there is functionality that is challenging so I cannot wholeheartedly give this more than 3 stars. It is better than mediocre, but just not good.

Compact and professional quality.
This microphone is fantastic! It's small, lightweight, and the sound quality is excellent, whether you're using 24-bit or 32-bit float recording. It's super easy to use, and it works perfectly with the Sidus Audio app. I love that I can plug in headphones to monitor the sound. A really cool feature is the ability to sync timecode, which makes editing video and audio much easier. While it's an investment, it's worth it for the improved audio quality and portability. This microphone, along with the TC-1 timecode generator, has become essential for floor interviews at hobby shows for my channel. If you're serious about audio for video, this is a great piece of equipment to have. The sound is warm and clear, and the app offers lots of options. It's pro-level quality that makes a big difference in my recordings. The packaging is also impressive, and the device itself feels well-built and durable. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to step up their audio game for video production.

This has become my favorite Radio Mic for filming
I just love this microphone. Not only is it small and lightweight, but the sound quality both at 24 and 32 bit float recording is really good. Love the ease of use. It works flawlessly with the Sidus Audio app that comes from Deity. You have the ability to cut the lower and higher frequencies of your audio, helping avoid distortion and the OLED screen is very easy to read and understand. I found myself setting it all up without reading the manual. Love the fact that you can plug in your headphones to spot monitor. The killer feature is the ability to give it timecode from the App, but also sync it with Deity's TC-1 timecode generator which is another device costing $200. I seriously recommend you get it along with this PR-2 recorder. Both sync wirelessly by bluetooth to the app without fail. Depending on your camera and the cable you need, you then plug the TC-1 into the camera, giving it the same timecode as this microphone is receiving. I used this on a Sony FX-3 and because it's a Sony, I had to get an additional cable that allows it to send timecode directly through the cameras multi port. Battery life is 26-28 hours on fresh Lithium AA batteries (it comes with a set of Deity's own lithium AAs) Filming is so much easier with audio and video matching timecodes. I know that means you spending a couple of hundred more, but trust me, it's worth it and much cheaper than rival devices that arguably just aren't as good or as easy to use as this one. I just love it. The TC-1 and PR-2 are essential kit for me now, when I'm doing sit down interviews for a documentary. Get them, you won't be disappointed.

Design and Build I really appreciate how compact and lightweight the Deity PR-2 Pocket Recorder is, which makes it easy to carry and use on the go. The plastic construction keeps it light, but I do have slight concerns about the durability of the belt clip over time. The layout is straightforward, and the locking 3.5mm stereo mic/line input is secure, which is a nice touch for ensuring stable connections during recording. Audio Quality The audio quality has exceeded my expectations. With both 24-bit and 32-bit float recording options, I can capture clear audio without worrying about distortion or clipping, even in unpredictable environments. The 32-bit float format is especially useful for dynamic audio recording, making it reliable for various projects. Timecode and Remote Control I’ve found the wireless timecode syncing with Deity's TC-1 generator boxes incredibly helpful. It ensures my recordings stay perfectly in sync, which is essential for professional use. The Sidus Audio app also allows for remote control, and I’ve enjoyed being able to adjust settings from up to 250 feet away, saving me time and effort during shoots. Battery Life and Power Options The battery life has been impressive, lasting nearly 30 hours on just two AA batteries. This has been great for long sessions without needing to stop and replace batteries. I also like the USB-C output, which lets me use it as an audio interface when I want to record directly to my computer. Accessories The included accessories are really useful. It comes with a belt-clip holster, a Deity W.Lav Pro microphone, a 32GB microSDHC card, a USB-C coiled cable, and a USB-C to USB 3 adapter. The kit was ready to use right out of the box, which saved me from needing to buy additional gear. Performance The PR-2 has been reliable and easy to use. I’ve appreciated the headphone output for live monitoring, and the secure mic input keeps everything steady during recording. The only drawback for me is the lack of a rechargeable battery, but the long battery life makes up for it. My only other concern is the belt clip, which feels like it might not hold up with heavy use. Value for Money For the price, this recorder is well worth it. The combination of features, like 32-bit float recording and timecode syncing, along with its ease of use, make it a great investment. If you’re looking for a versatile and dependable recorder, I’d definitely recommend it. The belt clip could be improved, but overall, this device offers fantastic value.

This is a pretty great small and lightweight 2-channel recorder with a solid feel and has highly responsive controls. It offers both mic- and line-in selection at the same input levels, with the mic option allowing 5V power to the mics, which will only power certain models of microphones. The gain range is from -12 to +36 dB, and it operates in either 24 bit or 32-bit float in mono mode and exclusively 24-bit in stereo mode. My experience with this audio recorder was very good. It was not overly complicated to learn, was highly responsive, and produced excellent recordings. It's not a top-of-the-line unit with all the bells and whistles, but for it's class, it's a pretty great 2-channel unit for portable recording with a 5V mic at a fair price. It even comes with batteries and a 32GB card, which is a great bonus to be able to have it fully operational straight out of the box.

I recently had the opportunity to use the Deity PR-2 Pocket Audio Recorder, and it has truly elevated my audio recording experience. Designed for filmmakers and traveling media professionals, this compact device packs an impressive punch with its 32-bit float recording capabilities. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality it produced, capturing rich details without the worry of clipping, even in dynamic environments. The inclusion of the 3.5mm Lavalier W.Lav Pro Mic further enhances the audio clarity, making it an excellent choice for interviews and on-the-go recordings. One of the standout features of the PR-2 is its timecode sync functionality. As someone who often juggles multiple audio sources during shoots, this feature has been a game changer. It allows for seamless integration with my camera system, ensuring that my audio and video are perfectly aligned, which saves me a lot of editing time later on. Additionally, the Sidus Audio App control is a fantastic touch, providing remote access to settings and allowing for easy adjustments on the fly. This is especially useful when I need to make changes without interrupting the flow of a scene. What I appreciate most about the Deity PR-2 is its portability and user-friendly design. The recorder is lightweight and compact, easily fitting into my gear bag without adding unnecessary bulk. Its intuitive interface makes it simple to operate, even for those who may not be tech-savvy. Overall, the PR-2 has become an indispensable part of my recording toolkit. Whether I’m capturing sound for a documentary, vlog, or an indie film, this audio recorder delivers exceptional performance and flexibility, making it a worthy investment for any content creator.

This little thing has it all and I am delighted with the quality. I have been using wireless audio as I was convinced it was good enough. I was wrong. It is ridiculously high quality and has features that are taking my videography to a new level. I am, by all measures, a rank amateur videographer. I make low budget YouTube videos so haven't worried much about audio. As long as things are mastered remotely well I am happy. With this thing I am now turning into an audio nerd. Syncing audio is supremely easy. With the app I was able to sync the time up in seconds and didn't have to think about it for the rest of the shoot. I haven't all of the stereo features, but they seem amazing. I am excited to get this thing with some alone time to shoot some stereo audio. I'm also excited with some of the features that are coming. There is a downside. I have one and I know I'm going to need another, possibly two more. This is going ti get expensive, but I am converted. I'm not a full audiophile, but recognize there was a lot to improve on in my old setup. Highly recommended if it is in your budget and you could stand to gain from improved audio. If you're still just messing around, maybe work on your technique before making this kind of investment. When you do, you won't regret it.
