Great activity and a keepsake included
My son lived doing this so much when wmhe was younger, about six, that he wanted another kit to do again aged ten. My daughter now wants one too. Easy to use and the specimens inside are good quality and robust enough to not being easily damaged during the 'dig'. Fun activity with treasures to keep at the end. Good value for the time it takes to do and not too messy we just laid out some newspaper underneath. Material is plaster so doesn't stain or anything and it's quite pleasant to touch.

Brilliant as a present (right side of image)
Bought for my boys 5th birthday. He absolutely lover digging for these. Adding water definitely helps. You get 3 very clear specimens

Small but great
Great little dig kit, the creatures are encased in acrylic so no worrying about chipping a bit off during the dig. They were slightly smaller than anticipated but still great, especially considering the price.

Just 'meh'
This is tiny and the tools are really small and naff.Saying that my son did enjoy it, for a few minutes .

Lots of fun
My son 6, thought this was very exciting. Loved that the bugs are in resin like Jurassic Park!He got them all out in one sitting but he enjoyed it immensely.
