Q: Will this work for small latch hook projects like pillows

Yes- works for any latch-hook rug kit. Uses a series of small nails in wood to hold your project in place.

Q: What is the measurement of the gaps between the cross bars, where rug is pulled up and the space for hooking the yarn?

Spaces vary from 1 5/8" to 2 3/8". Hooking the yarn is done on the front side of the rack, not between the bars.

Q: Does this fold up whrn not in use

No it does not fold up and it is really not worth the price to wobbly but I guess it is ok just not worth the money
