I like the hawk lock mounting system works really well. This monitor mount feels well made. Nice angle adjustment. It does have a big knob which can be difficult to turn and tighten when mounted with a monitor and cables. Overall, it matches the cage and works well.

This is the second NATO-style monitor mount I ordered in a month. These work so great that I had to have at least one more. They are versatile, as I have placed NATO rails around my camera cage. The design and size of these mounts are nice and offer me many different locations on my camera rig to mount monitors and audio equipment

Perfect quality

My second unit of this tilt mount is working well enough. When tightened, the tension is strong enough to hold my monitor in place, even with a big NP-F970 on its back.Unfortunately, my first unit had to be returned as defective, because the tension was so weak that the mount would droop with a monitor attached upon even slight movements. The tilt-tightening knob had barely any effect. I am concerned that to fully adjust the tilt-tension, you may need to access underneath the cover on the opposite side, which is not accessible in this design (like it is in other Smallrig tilt mounts) due to the cover being recessed. Should the tension decrease over time, that would be an issue.Beyond that, I don't know why there isn't a dual HawkLock tilt mount. Being in the system, I want HawkLock rails everywhere, including on my monitor which I also use with dual HawkLock arms and such. I had to separately purchase the HawkLock receiver to stick on top in order to make it Hawklock-bidirectional. This also notably increases the vertical profile of the unit.Likewise, I don't know why the longer rail included in this package (or with the much more expensive side-handle) isn't sold separately. Well, the value for this package is pretty good the first time at least, considering it includes both the mount and rail. But ultimately, you are forced into buying this if you want a long rail; and if you need multiple long rails, then the value-proposition of the system decreases without the ability to purchase them separately.Do also note that the mount is not compatible with standard NATO rails, only HawkLock rails. This is not a negative, just a reality of the locking mechanism: it requires the indents to function. Otherwise, the HawkLock rail itself is compatible with the other generic NATO clamps that I have.

You don't want a nato clamp without some sort of locking mechanism, this approach by small rig gives that without the hassle of getting them off or over the pins. The indents act as an additional security point/locking mechanism to prevent sliding along the rail. Works wonders for mounting your expensive monitor but removes the hassle of quickly detaching it, if need be.

Love this. Has made it so much more convenient for my camera monitor. Have been looking for something new and this hit the spot. Plus made by a reliable brand.
