Easy to use and extremely functional
First and foremost, the accuracy of this stud finder is impressive. The intelligent microprocessor chip seems to work like magic, providing reliable and precise results. It not only detects studs but also locates live AC wires and metal objects behind the walls. This multifunctionality saves time and gives me confidence that I'm not drilling into something unexpected. The LCD display is clear and easy to read, showing the exact location of studs and other materials. The audible alerts add another layer of convenience, making it user-friendly for those who prefer audio cues. The overall design is ergonomic, fitting comfortably in my hand and allowing for smooth scanning across walls. What sets this stud finder apart is the deep-scan feature. It can detect studs up to 1.5 inches deep, giving me a more comprehensive understanding of what lies behind the wall. This is particularly handy in older homes where the structure might not follow a standard pattern. The build quality is robust, and the tool feels durable. It's a reliable companion for various projects around the house, and the 5-in-1 functionality covers all the bases.

Excellent stud finder for the price
This stud finder has helped me mount photos, stands, and shelves on the walls of my apartment. It works as it should, but you need to read the instructions because it's a little more sophisticated than your average stud finder. It can detect normal studs, metal, and currents/voltage. The last one is probably my most used feature. When you are trying to detect metal/current, you must calibrate the finder away from the wall. On the other hand, if you're just trying to find a wooden stud, you must calibrate while having it pressed against the surface you are scanning. Only on one or two occasions have I had this thing "find" something that wasn't there, and that usually fixed itself when I re-calibrated and then tried scanning from both the right and left.My only complaint about the thing is that the sound on it is very loud and grating. Which I guess is the point, but it could be a little less shrill. All in all, I couldn't find another stud finder that offers a better value than this one. Build quality is acceptable, display is bright and crisp.

Easy to use, but unclear how accurate
I got this when hanging up curtains, specifically to make sure there were no electrical wires where I planned to drill. In certain instances, it gave very clear information about the presence of wires. In other places, it was unclear how accurate the information was, since there were definitely not wires but possibly it was responding to metal in the window frame. Still helpful as a reference, but mixed results.

DO NOT BUY!
Avoid!! I used this like an idiot for a year. It does find the studs, but it takes several passes and patience. You need to calibrate then go over the wall several times because it will sometimes indicate a stud at a different place. I learned that about 70% of the time it agrees with itself and that’s usually the stud. I finally gave up and bought one at a big box home improvement store and OH MY GOD the quality and accuracy and time saved gave me so much joy. Why oh god why did I waste so much time with this terrible product. What would normally take around twenty minutes with this product to swipe, scan and then mark. Only to swipe, scan and see the mark not agree SEVERAL TIMES over only to have a new, better product do it perfectly each time was infuriating.

Average
I have owned stud finders since the first one came out, probably 30 years ago. Have they improved over the years? Maybe a little, but . . . I've seen no real improvement in the past five to ten years or so, and this one is no different. It works well sometimes, but also can give false readings sometimes, and often is inconclusive. I was hoping for better.

Excellent Product
I found the studfinder extremely accurate. I had to install a dog door through our exterior wall, and being an older home, must of us know a stud can literally be at any location. I turned the unit on, and set the wall parameters and started my scan. The easy to see screen and its ability to place arrors at the direction you need to go and finally the two arrows pointing in at the same time indicationg the center of the stud as well as location of the outer edges was really close. After i installed the door and played around with the unit more, and its ability to find wires and pipes too, was simply amazing. Now it didnt work trying to scan through aluminum siding or metal which is for obvious reasons never going to work, but then it wasnt designed too. I am very happy this this instrument, and sure beats the old fashioned kind that literally were usually not accurate at best. The learning curve is pretty straight forward as our the settings, and a quick read over of instructions on the unit, makes it easy to use ina short order. I highly reccoment this unit, and perfect for most applications. As with any stud finder though, drill a small hole and check your stud location to insure you are where you need to be. With any electronic device there can always be a miscalulation in some instances so play smart. Overall I gave this unit a 5 for wase of use, and all the abilities of scans it can perform. The unit feels durable and comes in a nice storage sleeve. If you need to a device to find wires or pipes or even that stud this unit is worth a try. I am completely happy.

Works as Advertised
I have had other stud finders in the past that didn’t work that well, so was anxious to try this one out. I was very impressed with it. It didn’t require a lot of reading and studying to figure out how to use it - very simple. The read-out on the front is simple to understand and clear to read. I tried it on a number of my walls and found it to be very accurate. I like that it shows the center of the stud as well as the edges. I am still figuring out the readings for electrical wires - it is definitely showing where they are. So far, I have only used it on wood and drywall walls.
