Just an “Average Joe” cook, I am always looking for ways to make the job easier. This dicer/chopper works well. It makes chopping, shredding, dicing, and slicing foods that much easier and faster. With the surface area of the cutting mechanism being rather small, most foods need to be cut to fit before using. But again, once that it does, the amount of time saved overall is amazing.The blades are super sharp as I found out when nicking myself while shredding carrots. It only took that one slight accident to prompt me to use the bonus safety glove. Although it is a bit too big for my hand, I can still maneuver with care. As much as I like the decorative look of evenly sliced cucumbers and shreds of carrots to top my salad, prep can be a bit messy. For example, while shredding carrots, little off shoots were flying all over leaving carrot piece on counter, walls, etc. Conversely, having a container to catch the finished product is cleaner than having the foods land on a cutting board or counter.This all-in-one tool is fairly easy to clean. Of course, cleaning the shredder is tedious, but the other blades are not too bad. Being made of sturdy plastic, it has held up nicely after a couple months of using it at least twice a week. The peeler is a bit wonky to handle still since I have been using a traditional peeler for almost a half a century. But overall, this old dog is loving the new tricks learned using this food slicer/dicer.Note: As a Vine Voice, it is my intention to help sellers improve their product while highlighting the features of it. When this arrived I noticed how much plastic there is to this item. The first thing I done when I opened it, was dropped it on the wooden floor, (on accident) I was expecting there to be a crack in the plastic but there was not. Now I am not sure if I had dropped it on tile floor, if it would have had the same outcome.So far I have chopped, garlic, onion and tomatoes. The onion and tomotoe had to be cut in half in order for it to be chopped. But it did chop everything well.This seems to be a decent vegetable chopper, but I do worry that it may not last long as like I said, there is a lot of plastic.I do recommend this product just because it works well enough, and it did not break when it was dropped.

Pros: This is a handy multi-use kitchen tool. It not only dices to various sizes, but also slices and grates. Blades are sharp, and the unit is compactly designed so that everything (except pusher/finger guard) fits inside the food container for storage. Some other comparable choppers don’t include a mandolin/slicer attachment, which is what I was most interested in. I really appreciated inclusion of both a finger guard and protective glove for use when slicing, given that I can cut myself on just about anything!Cons:1. The chopping area is small, so you need to pre-cut most items into smaller pieces to chop;2. There is only one non-adjustable mandolin attachment, so you can only slice to one thickness;3. The part containing the blades just sits on top of the food container, rather than attaching to it, so you must hold it in place with your other hand which slicing, etc;4. The entire unit is made of cheap plastic, so durability is an open question;5. The instructions are relatively useless (and impossible to read unless you have 20-20 vision);6. The unit is not dishwasher-safe — or maybe it is? The enclosed instructions say yes, but writing on the box says no. I’m guessing that means no. Cleaning the unit is somewhat time-consuming, given that food gets stuck in the blades and you must be careful to avoid cutting yourself.Overall, this is a very useful tool if you have a lot of chopping or slicing to do. But for smaller jobs, it would be easier and quicker to simply use a knife given the length of time it takes to hand-clean the various components.

I am a complete rookie cook in a totally under equipped kitchen. Read one old very dull knife and a small cutting board. But have decided to up my game and learn how to cook stuff. One thing I’ve learned already is that cutting and chopping stuff is a big part of the that process. I have a small kitchen and I wanted something manageable and capable of doing all the prep work I need without breaking the bank, taking over my kitchen or needing chef training to master. This kit does exactly what I need. It has the pieces to do all the prep stuff I need done and not only is it easy, but I’m actually have fun doing it. It is doing its job and helping me learn the ropes.
