Great quality product. Lots of information to help you get started learning the whole fretboard

I've only had this a couple of days, so i'm still getting to grips with some concepts. The chord compass is sturdy and the accompanying booklet looks to go into detail in a reasonably easy way to follow. Pleased

I am always trying to improve my guitar knowledge but it's hard to memorise all the scales, chords, fretboard etc. This handy little tool at least takes the pressure off of finding chords quickly and easily on the CAGED system. I think it will make a good addition to the books etc I already have.

Natty little tool to help show you how chords appear on the fretboard. I've been playing guitar for a few months now and learned the basic chords in the open position (cowboy chords). I'm going to use this to help me play further down the neck. The book is much bigger than I expected - seems to be easy to follow - great idea and such a fun little tool. Might even fit in my music folder too!

This is excellent, not for first timers though. Get a little experience under your belt first, which is what I should have done.

The book does a satisfactory job of explaining the CAGED system for opening up the fretboard, but I would very strongly doubt that it's of much use to beginners (it does mention them in it's pitch). Also, if you're one of those guitarists who struggles with or just plain dislikes barre chords, then stay well clear - the CAGED system depends almost exclusively on them. Barre chords are among some of the toughest techniques to master on the guitar and take a lot of finger strength, dexterity and serious hours of practice to master. There are many people who think barre chords are overrated, including some teachers. To me they are just another potentially useful tool in a larger set of tools, but have a relatively 'high pain to gain' ratio. There are so many other fundamentals that can be learned and practiced to a high level that will help guitarists feel empowered and have fun, before getting into barre chords, if they ever do. I gave it only three stars because the information, while accurate and reasonably well presented, is quite limited, most if not all of it freely available on the internet, in some cases explained even better in my opinion. The same information is also replicated in many other guitar learning books that generally cover a much greater range of techniques and skills and at a lower price. I think it's poor value for money - probably should be half the price it is - I think we're paying a lot extra to cover the flimsy plastic tool it comes with (seems a bit gimmicky to me). For some stupid reason, I bought the book thinking it might have some nuggets of revelatory info/tips/techniques in it - it doesn't.

Für Leute, die gerade anfangen, Gitarre zu spielen, kann ich es sehr empfehlen. Allerdings ist das Begleithaft in englischer Sprache. Ein paar Englischkenntnisse wären vorteilhaft, aber nicht zwingend. Es werden auf dem Akkord-Kompass fünf Dur-Akkorde, und zwar C, A, G, E und D-Dur in verschiedenen Positionen auf dem Hals visualisiert. So kann man z.B. Umkehrungen und auch Solo-Gitarre spielen lernen. Ich würde empfehlen, auch das ein oder andere Video zu diesem Artikel auf YouTube anzuschauen.

Its a great tool to learn guitar chords. It gets down to the basic structure of chords making easy to understand and start learning how to work within the chord to improve players techniques. This tool comes with detailed book breaking down the basics then takes the student through the process of building on the root chord structure to become a much more skilled guitar player. Don't just look at it and think its complicated. Read it from the beginning and you will quickly began to grasp how a chord is composed then carries on to when and how to use alternative versions of a chord. In my opinion this tool is paramount to becoming a performance ready musician. As a musician myself I've been playing gigs for over 30 years. This tool has helped my to break through the "Stuck Point" all musicians hit at some point in their journey to becoming the best at their craft. Thanks to Noisy Clan for this wonderful tool and the excellent book that comes with it.
