Love this thing!
(I’m on my husbands account)I was reading some reviews and I was kind of nervous buying this. You have some good and some iffy ones. I can see why some people felt a certain way. However, I love this thing! My hair is kind of medium. Not thick and not thin. I curled my hair so fast and it was so easy. It looks amazing too!! As soon as I finished I was like wow I love this thing. I would pay 150 for this thing if I ever broke it. Best curling experience ever. Thanks CHI! ❤️

Good
Pro:* safe...the case sets against your head between the hot barrel to prevent burns* gives a nice sausage/barrel curl* heats up super fast* has a long cord so you can easily position yourself to see what you are doing* easy to use with just a minimal learning curve* price is okCon: I really dislike the location of the buttons to control the barrel spin. Very inconvenient.I have long hair. Past the bra strap. If you have long hair you need to manage the amount of hair you try to curl at one time. Use smaller sections or you will get an error because it is just too much for the barrel. This doesnt necessarily save you time. As you get more experienced with it that might be the case. But not when you are new to it. Where it has been handy for me is the back of my head. Yikes, when you are trying to roll 22" hair. This helped. You need to take a small section of hair, lay it across the top, make sure the hair is smooth and you set it down so the tail of the hair is parallel to the tool and lays gently downward before pressing the spin button. If you don't, you may end up with a fahoofled mess and need to start it over. You don't need to slide the hair into the barrel. You can lay it across the U shaped part in the center. Just be sure to position the rest of the strand the way I described earlier. Tangles don't really matter. The spinning stops and it angrily beeps at you and you simply slide the hair out of the chamber. There is nothing to tangle into the hair and catch it.If you want to leave your hair wrapped longer than the beep alert you can. It is just a convenient counter alert for you. This gives a final result of a beachy wave curl after you fuss with the finished barrel curls. Your final result will be determined by your curling products and style. I would say a curl setting product would be helpful. Quick heat set curls don't have the best staying power like a wet overnight set would. My overall opinion is that it is handy and does a decent job. For most people it probably isn't faster than a curling iron. It does help if you are trying to get a barrel wrap instead of a flat wrap and struggle with it. It is also nice for getting the back of the head if you have long hair.I am sure over time the creative souls will find lots of tricks and tips for interesting ways to style with it.

Great Curler!
Great curler for those of us that are curling wand challenged! A bit of a learning curve but once you get it it’s easy and quick!

Easy and defined curls
I recently decided to attempt to learn to curl my hair. I have naturally think and wavy hair, but wanted more definite in my curls.I bought several different types of curling irons, and this one has been the winner for me! I purchased a used one and have no issues with the quality of the machine, heat level, or packaging. So far I have tried 400f temp with a 17s hold. The 17s seems like a very long time (lol). I will try the 15s next. The curls held well and came out very defined. My hair does have some what of a “heat” smell too it, but that usual anytime I use heated items. The learning curve is pretty easy, I just followed the included directions. However, I did have an issue with the hair becoming tangled often and the iron needing to be reset. I suspect this is somewhat user error and I am using to thick of sections at a time or holding them too “tightly”. It may just be a me thing, but it was annoying.Overall, this curler works well and is easier to use than other options I have tried. The curls held well all day! Compared to a traditional iron, this curler is a clear winner!

Love my hair curler❤️
Got the chi spin n curl 1 in pink. Love the color, the price is reasonable, great quality, not that heavy, my hair was shiny no frizz, easy grip, the heating is great you control it as you like, and my hair did not get damaged at all. It was easy and fast to curl at the beginning you have to get the hang of it but once you get it it’s easy. I recommend it 💯

So much better than Dyson
Short version: I LOVE this CHI curler! I'm selling the Dyson.Long version: I have Dyson Airwrap but never really liked it. It takes a long time to use, somehow some wispy hairs never make it properly around the barrel, and the barrel switching circus and timing are cumbersome. The hairdryer attachment somehow seems to make my fine hair look greasy fast, and I don't have use for any of the other attachments. But I spent crazy money on it so I really tried to like it, but mostly I just ended up skipping any curling.I recently decided to try curling again, so I bought this and the T3 hot roller set. The hot rollers burn my scalp but produce lovely voluminous waves and fullness at the root, so I'm going to keep them and use them for special occasions. But this CHI changed my daily hair game! I have very fine, shoulder length hair that has slight wave/loose curl naturally, especially in wet weather. The ends are damaged so they tend to hang straight, but they look much better and healthier with a little wave. I can now give my lenths loose wave/curl in 5 minutes flat! I hated switching the Dyson barrels, the whole switch operation and figuring out which barrel to use on which side was tedious. This device is so easy, I just place the curler in my hair and make sure the section I want to curl is placed in the "fork", and press the button that is further back/closer to the back of my head. The buttons are slightly raised and placed symmetrically, so I can press the correct button without even looking. It's easy and intuitive and blows the Dyson barrel circus out of the water.I also love the timer! I hated having to count in my head with the Dyson, trying to guess how much time has elapsed. I have the timer set at 15 seconds. I love the simple protocol. Place wand, press button, see hair disappear into the device, wait for the beep, release. No fiddling or counting, I'm free to daydream at the same time.Since my hair is very fine, I use the lowest temperature setting (180F) for the shortest time (15 seconds). It still gives me clear, well defined curls that are too tight for my liking, so I let them relax to have the style I like. I haven't tried it but I'm sure I could preserve the tight curls by using more styling products, pinning the curl up for a while, using hairspray etc. if I wanted to.If anything, the curl is almost too tight for my taste, so I ordered the 1.25 barrel too. I'm so excited to have beautiful hair every day now!

Easy & Effortless to Use but the Curls aren’t the Greatest
CHI Spin N Curl Rose Gold Curler - Super pretty with a nice design and very easy to use once you get the hang of it! The instructions don’t specifically mention holding your hair over the insert while letting it “hang on the other side of the curler” (it only mentions making sure that it’s in the insert) but that’s basically all you have to make sure you do in order to get it to spin your hair piece in properly. The spinning panels inside only stop after a full rotation so even if you’ve stopped pushing the button, it doesn’t stop spinning for a few seconds at times (until it makes / hits that full rotation) which makes it inconvenient and doesn’t hold the end section of your hair piece properly at times. If your hair piece isn’t thick enough to stay wrapped around the barrel all the way, the end comes out straight while the rest is curled. It’s hard to check this while it’s wrapped in because once you’ve moved the curler lower / over a little your hair starts to become undone. Then if your hair piece is too thick, the curl is scrunched and close together or just not a full curl. I curled almost my full head and my hair basically looked like a “messier curl / scrunched” style. Sadly my curls come out better just using a regular wand curler. I will say, this curler is definitely “Effortless” and makes curling easier, it just needs a few adjustments to provide better curls in my opinion. A nice function it does have is the beeping function that will beep 4 times once you’ve set and wrapped your hair piece around the barrel to let you know that your hair should be ready to pull out of the curler at that time, which is nice and helpful. There are 2 buttons on the handle near the higher part of the curler that you can choose from to determine which way you want your hair piece curled - this is genius, that way you don’t have to worry about figuring out which way to hold your curler to get your curls to come out in the right direction! There’s also an option to change how high / low you want the heat to be (like most curlers) along with a digital display. Overall a Decent Curler but sadly not worth the Amount it’s going for (currently listed for $99.99, I got mines for sale for $67.45 - all before tax) in my opinion especially since the curl outcome for this doesn’t beat my regular wand curler at home. I’d recommend this for anyone that struggles with curling in general but if you’re experienced and/or looking for consistent, nice salon style curls, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Kind of difficult to use
Pros: It is safe since the barrel is not exposed.Cons: 1) It beeps 4 times when it’s done, which is excessive and annoying. 2) It is finicky and takes a lot of practice. If it doesn’t like what you are doing, it will keep beeping until you reset it and start over. 3) It doesn’t work well for my stiff and thick hair even at the higher heat setting. It works great for my daughter’s fine hair. See photos. 2) It’s not great on finishing the ends. See photo. The hair on my daughter’s left, I didn’t get it correct. On the right, I started to get the hang of it.Tips: 1) Use small amounts of hair, smaller than what you think it can manage. Too much and it will protest. 2) If you want it to capture the ends, keep spinning even when you think it is done spinning. I think that helps secure the last bit. Sometimes you just have to redo it.Overall, I like it for her. It’s easier to use and safer. For myself, I like my old fashioned curling iron. I have way more control over it. Also, since it only accepts small bunches of hair, it takes way too long on my own hair.

Plug is American, not UK or Europe. NO HAIR SPRAY!
Thought it would be a UK plug, it's some weird flat plug. The photo's show + sprays but no hair sprays given!!! I couldn't use the curler, soo sad! :(

Good material, good quality, would buy again.
Good quality, good material. Would buy again and again. Makes curling your hair so easy. Works great. Recommend it to everyone. My hair does not curl, or curl easily. And this one curled my hair and the curls lasted.

I don't usually leave Amazon reviews but...
This is simply amazing. I have thin, straight shoulder-length Asian hair that doesn't hold curls at all (I tried digital perm which was supposed to last between 3 - 6 months but which came undone for me at the end of two months) but with this beauty, heat protection spray and curl spray, I get WONDERFUL curls that still look all crisp and bouncy after two days. There's definitely a learning curve - at first, I tangled my hair a lot while curling it - but it took me only three uses to get the hang of it. I also want to mention that I bought this as a dupe for Dyson Airwrap but with the amazing result and completely hassle-free use, I don't think I'll ever get that $700 bulky styler!I've found that the 15s, 370F option works best for my hair. I haven't noticed any deterioration of my hair quality, but my hair does get a bit dry if I use it on the same sections repeatedly. So, make sure not to use it on hair that's too damp!
