The English Dee Cheek With Hooks Design: A "D” shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. Function: Direct action - applies same amount of rein pressure to the mouth. More direct signal than Loose Ring. Will not pull through the mouth or pinch. Hooks fix attachment of reins and headstall and allow bit to work like a leverage bit. When reins are pulled upward and backward, mouthpiece rolls downward and backward into the mouth while pulling downward on the poll. Usage: Used in English and Western. The Comfort Snaffle Wide Port Mouth Piece (MB 05R) Design: Curved mouthpiece with low ported centre barrel. Function: Puts pressure on the corners and tops of the bars and collapses slightly on the lips. Will not pinch bars or tongue. No palate or tongue pressure on most horses. Offers Tongue relief. Each side of the mouthpiece moves independantly. Level: Three Usage/Solution for: Useful for the intermediate and finished horse, the Myler Medium Wide Port works primarily off the bars and collapses slightly on the lips.
