Does it control the power, speed and oscillation? Yes!Does it have 2 extra up/down buttons that do nothing? Also Yes!Does it fit in the remote holder? No!

You may have to read how to "fix" the co ntrol.
The instructions that tell you to basically pull on the contact spring (I used small needle nose pliers) for the batteries to make contact worked but initially I thought I had a defective control. I found the same problem on a new control that came with a Honeywell fan. Quality Control is not verifying operation. Instead they let the customer solve it as a time saver to the manufacturer. But once I pulled on the spring slightly so as not to pull it off completely the device works as intended.
