Great value outdoor camera
The media could not be loaded. We purchased this Tapo camera to compliment our existing Tapo security and home automation devices; I wanted to minimise the amount of apps I’m using for all the various tech in our house and handily all of our Tapo smart plugs and cameras use one very intuitive and simple app.Installation and setup is very good. Quality wall fixings are provided, the plugs arent Fischer quality but are fine for use in mortar or brick and the screws are stainless and shouldn’t rust, no sticky fitting is provided should you not wish to screw the wall to a surface. The camera connected first time to our mesh home network and its signal hasn’t ever stopped despite being positioned past two thick brick walls. The picture quality is very good, however at a distance of over 5 metres away it would be very difficult to make out clear facial detail, when the camera does recognise a human a handy green light on the face of the camera illuminates, the motion detection is also excellent; ours picks up motion up to 8 metres away, please note that the sensitivity is proximity based so I’d recommend setting up zones and notifications based on your preferences so your device isn’t constantly pinging notifications (which drains the battery life faster). We’ve had ours up for around a week with 5-10 notifications a day and the battery is on 89%. I’ve opted to fit a micro SD card rather than purchase Tapo care as the camera isn’t in a location where it’s in danger of theft. If local storage isn’t an option for you bear in mind that Tapo’s cloud storage plan is £24.99 a year per camera.Overall we are very happy with this Tapo product and would purchase another.

Excellent All-Round Wireless Security Camera
I bought the Tapo TC82 2K Battery Security Camera on Amazon for outdoor use, and I’m genuinely impressed by how well it performs. Setup was quick and easy via the Tapo app, and it connected to my Wi-Fi without a hitch. The picture quality is excellent — the 2K resolution is sharp and detailed both in daylight and at night. The colour night vision is a real highlight. Unlike grainy black-and-white footage on cheaper models, this camera gives you full-colour visibility even in low light. It’s incredibly helpful for identifying people or vehicles at night.Another big plus is the AI detection — it can distinguish between people, animals, and cars, which helps reduce false alerts. You can customise activity zones too, so you’re not constantly getting notified about every passing cat or leaf blowing by.The 180-day battery life is a game changer. I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and the battery is still going strong. No wires, no hassle, and perfect for locations where power sockets aren’t available. It also integrates smoothly with Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing for voice commands or viewing live feeds on smart displays. And best of all: no monthly fees. You can use a microSD card or even Tapo’s free cloud storage option if you catch the occasional promotions.Build quality feels solid and weatherproof — the IP65 rating gives confidence that it’ll stand up to UK weather.Pros:Crystal clear 2K videoColour night visionSmart AI motion detectionLong battery lifeWeatherproof and wirelessNo monthly subscription requiredCons:MicroSD card not included (buy one separately)Needs good Wi-Fi signal for smooth streamingOverall, the Tapo TC82 is one of the best value wireless security cameras on the market — highly recommended for both indoor and outdoor use!

For the price it is brilliant.
I am happy with the camera. It works well where I have it at the front of the house, although there is about a 4 second delay when you first load the app, but as this is also common with the more expensive brands I do not consider this to be a big problem. The night vision would be awful, but we are not far from the road and have streetlight nearby, so it works for us. I would suggest putting up a PIR light as well if you don't have lighting near your home. The picture in daylight is pretty good. The sound is acceptable. It has a 2 way mic, so I use it instead of an intercom or ring doorbell to communicate with those outside. If you were to mount it high up you probably would find the speaker not loud enough, but as I'm not actually using it as a security camera, I have mine mounted at door height, and even with a busy road nearby, I do not find the sound to be much of an issue, although it does pick up wind snd traffic. You can also activate a siren if you want someone to go away, but you can disable this if you want to.The camera is supplied with about a 2metre power lead, with a usb connection at the end, and a main plug is supplied. This could be a problem if you want to feed the power cable through a wall as a bigger hole would have to be made to accommodate the USB plug. However, we have fed ours between the front door and the frame, and this seems to work fine.It connected easily with my echo 5 show and the app (which I already use for plugs) is basic but functional.I think for the price, this was a good buy.

Great Cameras
Bought to add to existing Tapo camera network. Word of advice if you use your garden alot then the battery will go down by 3-5 % within 6 hours so I suggest either turning privacy mode on if its safe to do so or buy a Tapo solar panel for it, which we have and it stays at 99-100% charged. Only Tapo solar panel works with tapo cameras, I have bought other make brands solar panels and they just don`t work. Great video quality and easy set up via tapo app. Check your wifi range for the camera.

Amazing camera.
Camera is amazingQualityBattery lifeDetection featuresCloud and SD storage for all things recorded.App with effortless streaming all very good aspects of this camera. It’s a good portable camera that’s a great addiction without needing to hardwire or need solar panels.1 downside it wouldn’t connect to my google home as advertised but again their app works fine,Hoping soon they bring out a battery camera similar to this but allows you to rotate the camera when you want.
