Wow, this is a hefty griddle! Very heavy, but oh so good! It is very well made, from the pan to the wooden resting block.I own a fair amount of cast iron pans, pots, skillets, etc., and this one is superb in my books! It means business! It's a decent size, double-sided, and has removable cast iron handles for lifting and moving it. You don't want to leave those in while cooking, but if you do, be sure to have some decent heat-resistant gloves or oven mitts handy.The griddle comes with a decent set of instructions on care and use. If you are new to cast iron cooking, just follow the instructions, or do some searches online... there are a lot of cast iron enthusiasts out there who can offer varied advice on seasoning etc. The main thing is just cook with it, and keep persevering, it will get better over time and should last more than a lifetime if looked after.Pricewise it may seem expensive at around the £40 price point, but I think this is fair value for what it is, and will outlast any non-cast iron pan with ease. Love it!

Ok, I have a decent gas barbecue and have been doing smash burgers on the grill bars with obvious consequences and burger meat squashed onto the bars. This grill plate is a game changer for me as it enables me to do smash burgers which then cook on a nice flat surface and produce amazing results and the best smash burgers I’ve had. I do cheat and buy ready made burgers to do this with but they taste and cook so much better when they’re squashed with a smash burger plate. The plate gets really hot and cooks fast so good for thin burger styles. The alternative side is ridged and good for steakS too. I’ve found it does get dirty and needs more than a scrape off, it’s easily removed and almost fits in the kitchen sick to scrub down. The plate is heavy duty and comes with the handles to move it around more easily. For the money I’ve found it useful and I have been using it every time I cook burgers as it makes them so well. I’ve left it out inside the bbq a couple of times and it’s still fine. I haven’t used the wooden stand thing as it just something else but I can see it would be good if you wanted to show off your cooked steak after it comes out of the bbq. Seems a decent product so far!

The George Foreman Dual sided Griddle plate is 33 x 30 x 2.5cm in size, made in sturdy cast iron and comes with a wooden base board for it to rest on. The finishing of the griddle plate is very good and the overall make is in high quality. One side of the griddle plate is smooth for veggie and the other side is good for grills. I find it useful to place on the BBQ stove to do my cooking, the grills and veggie were delicious. I can simply serve it on the table with the wooden base that comes with the set. It is quite heavy (4.9Kg) therefore two handles were in place to ensure I can hold securely with both hands especially when it is loaded with food. The handles will gets hot as it sits on the BBQ stove, make sure to hold it with gloves or handle protector. I am happy with it so far and have been enjoy using it during this BBQ season.

You may just sprain a wrist removing it from the BBQ if you’re not careful, on the one side you have the classic griddle whilst on the opposite there is a smooth textured surface, the front allows you to slot the handles in easily when required, the handles are comfortable to use.The beech wood tray is a nice touch to complete this as a set, it is also well constructed with finger slots on the underside and a griddle grove on the top to align the griddle into.Measurements are roughly 250mm x 300mm x 33mm.Overall, top quality set that will stand out at any BBQ, heats up well and holds the heat for long periods at a time, gives the classic griddle line look on food, easy to clean, excellent instruction book included, long lasting, happy to recommend, thank you.

So this cannot be used on a BBQ or gas oven straight out of the box as you have to oil and 'cook' the griddle pan in the oven to season it ..... just for those eager folks that want to use it straight away ! It can also be used on a gas stove and it fits really well on our central large gas burner and sits safely and flat. That said its HUGELY heavy - like really heavy - and there are two metal handles provided to lift it anywhere (note, metal, so don't let them get hot too !) and you'll need both handles to move it. The wooden trivet style tray is nicely made and looks good and has a groove that means the griddle pan sits on it securely and won't slide off easily. One side of the griddle pan is grooved (to provide the hatching stripes on meat for example that look so fancy) and one side is super flat (ideal for griddling pancakes which is what it will be used for in our house !!) - you could also do a tempanyaki style of griddle cooking on the flat side if you were so inclined although the space available isn't massive so cooking for more than 2 with a wok style of food would be tricky in one go in my opinion. Otherwise its quality through and through and really worth the price point - I thought it would be an ideal mid range wedding or anniversary gift as well - as it can be used on a variety of heat sources and not just a BBQ. An easy four stars - would have been five if it hadn't been just SO heavy - not recommended for anyone with any mobility issues or strength in arm issues ....... !!
