First impressions of this package are there is some weight to these cables which can be a sign of decent components used to make them.First impressions of this cable are the same with the other ICZI cables that this cable has an extremely good build quality and it feels really sturdy and rigid. This adapter feels really tough and durable which is on par with this company other cables. the connectors on this cable are gold plated which will resist corrosion a lot better and perform better when transmitting signals. The connector heads on this cable are constructed out of a tough grade plastic housing but it is really durable and I am certain it will stand the test of time. The connectors on both ends feel really well constructed and not like the cheap rubbish cables than you usually come across in this price range. I like that this cable is nice and compact and can be easily hidden behind a TV and not seen because i am a neat freak and it would drive me nuts to see the cable poking out.Once I rigged this up I can verify the performance of this cable is on par with the rest of ICZI's cables in the respect that they perform really well and give out true 1080p with no distortion or interference. I only say distortion or interference because I did actually buy a cable similar to this but not the same and once connected I kept getting the occasional white line across the screen I mean it was a faint white line but it was still annoying and this occasional pop sound over the audio but with these cables you do not get that issue. This cable supports full Display port link tracking. This can also support resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 pixels and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. Also supports SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA at 162 MHz pixel rate. HDTV resolutions are 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 1080i, 1080p.I can verify that these resolutions work perfectly fine with no image issues or distortions of any kind I often include this in my cable reviews because I have reviewed some cables in the past that claimed to output true 1080p but did not even come close and when you find the odd one that did it would have distortion or sound issues but I am happy to say that these cables do not have that problem. I can confirm I have tested this cable with a computer and a laptop and it worked perfectly fine with no issues that I noticed. Overall this is another clear example that ICZI make really good cables at really good prices. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs this cable or any other kind of cable because the build quality combined with decent prices makes buying with them a no brainer. I will most likely only buy my cables from this company now as I have tested a wide variety of their cables and I have yet to find one that I did not like which is actually pretty impressive. The solution for connecting DP and VGA display was something that was troubling me for some time – until finally I was able to find this product and after extensive testing realized thi s is exactly what I was looking for.I have several laptops and few projectors and usually problems with older projectors is they do not support newer connection standards. Given I tried to use my older projector for my younger daughter bedroom instead of TV, I became frustrated because of lack of idea how to connect her laptop’s DP output and projector’s VGA input. Therefore, this adapter provided by ICZI company proved as exceptionally useful product – since I received it, this adapter is in function almost non-stop on her laptop and I am happy to say it works like a charm.The adapter supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 and there is no need for any extra cables or setup – it is an entirely plug and play experience.I carefully read manual in order to avoid possible misunderstandings. Therefore before buying you should know this is not bi-directional adapter and it cannot simultaneously support more than one output.As above mentioned, I am very satisfied with testing results – no product flaws or operation issues were encountered during testing time. The adapter functions perfectly with this laptop and projector and I was finally able to make happy my daughter who did not understand nature of problem that prevented her to use projector.This is the first product I had tried from this seller and as much I am satisfied with testing results, I am equally satisfied with delivery service. Product is constructed really well. Connecting cable is strong, and the housing for the VGA socket is very sturdy. Product is much lighter than I thought it would be, which is helpful. Worked very well, and gave a clear display. No interference in the signal. Worked straight out of the box. Plugged it into the DisplayPort and plugged my VGA cable into it and away it went. Only real complaint is that it doesn't send the signal to the screen until the PC is booted up and in Windows, meaning I don't see the BIOS screen. Not sure why this is, though I suspect it is the adapter itself and not the DisplayPort, as my DP to HDMI cable does not suffer the same problem.

I had been told that I needed a new screen when I updated my computer and it was hdmi. I didn't think that there was anything wrong with my old screen. It worked fine. So I googled and came up with this. It works.

It does the job that I wanted - which was to make a secondary monitor a reality.
