Good quality and feel in the hand.
I am impressed with the quality. It is the first "professional" woodworking tool I have purchased. The blades are sharp and give a good edge. The tool itself, feels good in the hand and seems well constructed. The instructions are well written and easy to understand.

Works well if used correctly, but leaves marks on the board
This thing is very aggressive. Back it off completely, and only increase depth by very small amounts while ensuring you are holding it at the correct angle. Turn the depth knob a little too far and you are likely to get tear out. If you take very light cuts, it works great, other than the metal sole leaving black marks on the board which need to be sanded out.

Very enjoyable to use
Very comfortable on the hand, the calibrated blades are great for maintaining the same depth specially if you switch blades. It is great that the spare blades can be store within.

I'm not sorry I got it
I didn't like it at first. But I held off reviewing it. Seemed like it stuck a lot and might not be as sharp as it should be. But it's common for plane blades "out of the box" to need sharpening. So I used a trim router (on a table) to chamfer, but having done that, and gained some planning experience, I decided to use it again and I see my problem was my lack of skill. I prefer, for a slight chamfer, to use this right angle hand planer. It's easier to grab, and I had a job done by the time I would have set up the router. When I saw potential tear out develop I changed to planning from the opposite direction. I smoothed the final work with a block plane and a bit of sanding. No noise, it was pleasant to do by hand. Mahogany, not white oak. Hardest woods might require something different, not sure. Can't spend hundreds of dollars on every tool so this is a good purchase. And it will probably work better if I sharpen it.

Quality control issues.
Excellent weight and feel. When received the 1/8 inch round blade was missing. The blade that would be used in my shop. I am trying to work with the seller to get the blade, so far nothing. If I get the blade I will update this post, probably to a five star.Un fortunately I was not able to connect with anyone who could get the blade. I am returning this to Amazon.
