YC Onion Lens Hood for Fujifilm X100V X100VI with 23mm Adapter Ring Silver,Aluminum Alloy

Who on earth are YC Onion and how have they slipped under my radar for so long?Never mind my X100VI this wouldn't look out of place on a Leica it is so beautifully crafted, perfect machining and engine turning on the 2 adapters and a rather novel but very efficient oblong lens cap.I wish all lens hoods looked and felt as good as this!

First off the overall quality of the Eachshot square hood is superb. It is made entirely of metal, it seems tough and durable and it is nicely finished. Unfortunately, at least in my case, this is it for the good bits and things go rapidly downhill from here.How the Eachshot square hood fits my X100VI (and also my old X100V) is what really matters, I am disappointed to say the fit is awful and no matter what I do I cannot get the hood to fit completely as it should. No matter how many times I have tried the square hood simply won’t line up correctly and go on straight on either my Fuji X100V or Fuji X100VI.I am not sure whether the Eachshot square hood simply doesn’t fit the X100 series or whether I have been sent a copy with a manufacturing defect. It’s a shame because the Eachshot square hood looked great out of the box and I really wanted it to work.At £62.00 (at the time of review) the Eachshot square hood is priced at the higher end of the market and there are cheaper alternatives out there. The build quality is obviously very good with this square hood and if fit either one of my Fuji X100 cameras it would be worth the high price tag.Based on my experience of the Eachshot square hood there is no way I could or indeed recommend this for either the Fuji X100V or the Fuji X100VI.Disclaimer: I am privileged enough to be part of the Amazon Vine program and as such I have the opportunity request products that I would find useful/potentially buy to road test in exchange for an honest review. This is fantastically made. It's absolutely functional and worked very well at blocking stray light... but what really impressed me is that it looks and feels absolutely perfectly crafted to match the camera and looks completely OEM. I am very happy with the attention to detail.

I’ve previously tried the Haoge lens hood, which was fine quality-wise but I rarely used as it was nearly impossible to align. This hood is not only an improvement quality-wise (especially with the hood cover) but also aligns easily and securely. Easily worth the increased price compared to other alternatives

Parfaitement adapté à mon X100VI, le vissage se fait sans problème et le cache tient par friction de µ2 bandes en caoutchoucs.LA finition est très bonne et ça ne choc absolument pas avec le reste du boitier !

The Fujifilm X100V and VI come without lens hood, whích I consider a big letdown. Luckily there are manufactures like YC Onion. I've never heard of YC Onion before, and because of that, I was more than surprised with this product. It's absolutely exquisitely crafted lens hood, down to the smallest detail. The cup holds in the hood strongly yet smoothly, and the hood rotates to correct position also with a nice damped feel. The finish is absolutely gorgeous, the same level of detail like on the camera. If that still didn't convince you why you should pick the hood over products from competitors, I'll add that this one is the smallest and lightest kind you can get for X100 series — it doesn't make the lens diameter larger, only a bit longer. This shape is the most space saving, yet efficient in blocking stray light. Well done, YC Onion! Highly recommended.Note: I ordered both colors, one for X100V of my wife and one for my X100VI (once it arrives). See photos of both color variants.

È un prodotto senza dubbio originale, anche se non so se questa originalità paghi realmente.Innanzitutto la forma squadrata molto accentuata, con il paraluce a incastro, con quattro “gommini” che fanno da supporto, ma che non rendono completamente impermeabile la chiusura perché non corrono lungo tutto il perimetro del paraluce! Molto strano.Apprezzo che ci siano due adattatori, uno per x100v e uno per x100vi perché effettivamente hanno una leggera differenza che va poi a rendere la linea più piacevole.Tuttavia ho la sensazione, rispetto ad altri costruttori di paraluce, che le tolleranze meccaniche non siano così precise.Innanzitutto perché separare il vero e proprio paraluce dal proprio adattatore è una missione quasi impossibile.In secondo luogo, perché la vite, avvitando il paraluce alla macchina, sembra “graffiare” e mi spaventa non poco.Forse propenderei per altri modelli.
