Formal Leather (Not Distressed) Journal, Travel Diary, Notebook, Unlined Paper Sketchbook (Brown 5x7)

Its a lot nicer than I excepted it to be and really fun.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. Unlined pages make it a great sketch book

Price was great for the detailed stitching n weight of this Art Journal n provides many pages of fun

I love how the journal was made, great quality for the price. I bought it as a gift for my niece.

I was so impatient to get this sketchbook!It came with a #2 pencil and- I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but there were two sheets of loose paper. One was in the front and the other was located in the back. I used these two papers to test the integrity of the paper.This product was very well made; however, keep in mind that this is for sketching- not masterpieces. The paper is fairly soft, but it's durable enough to handle graphite pencil, colored, pencil, and ink pen to an extent. This paper isn't strong enough to handle much layering! I layered marker on a piece of loose paper I found and noticed that after about 5 - 6 layers the ink was bleeding through unforgivably; it's safe to say watercolor is a no-go for this product. As for erasers an electric eraser will shred this paper almost instantly. It's always best to stick with a kneaded eraser or even a pink paper mate eraser works fine. Also, when using graphite pencil, you'll probably want to place a small sheet of paper between each sketch. Because this paper is so soft, it easily transfers from one page to the next. I guess even media can't get enough of this neat little book...Here is a quick sketch of a bird.

I’m only giving this a three because the idea of it is great. I need an alternative solution for my writing because if allergies and I am able to write on this paper in PEN .... pencil doesn’t always show and any time I have attempted to erase anything particles just attach to the eraser and drag .... if you prefer or are at least willing to write in pen it’s a great item if you prefer pencil don’t even bother.

It's a nice journal. The leather feels and looks nice, and the strap that closes it doesn't feel like it'll tear in half moving it. The paper is fairly textured feeling, and feels like it'll accept all dry medias, and perhaps some marker (alcohol based such as Copics I feel would be kinder on the paper). It doesn't feel thick enough to tolerate wet media's like watercolor or water based markers. I had expected thicker paper based on the other review, but for basic sketching (what I typically do in journals) this'll do just fine. You can always replace the filling with cotton paper, too.

Smaller than expected. I didn't really read the description too well I guess, but it is perfect for what I got it for. Never written on hemp paper before so I feel like its hard to write nice on it. I'm sure I will get the hang of it. One side is smooth and one side is kinda rough. Very nice overall though! Hoping I can find one like this with more pages on it though.
