Awesome all the way around
I was on the fence at first because I had never heard of this company but there was definitely no reason for that!!! The boat was exactly as described. Compared to other company’s with boats in this same class the the price is unbeatable. Comfy, very stable and loads of storage for overnight float trips.BKCs customer service is a class act!! I emailed about a few concerns and had responses almost immediately every time. Shipping was crazy fast and it arrived to my door almost two weeks before the estimated delivery window.

Poor customer service
The boat seems ok but arrived with broken missing hatch parts water gets into since we cannot seal the hatches. I have contacted manufacturer several times. Nothing is getting fixed 3-4 months later nothing.

Value for you money
I've owned this kayak for a couple years now and I have to say out of my other yaks I like it the best by far. The foot control rudder is an awesome feature for maintaining your positioning while fishing shorelines. It comes with plenty of attachment points so that makes it easier for you to customize it to your needs. The only thing I changed was the seat because after a year the support strapping broke at the plastic, so I made some aluminum arms to permanently hold the seat open and raised the seat up 6+ inches. This yak is a tank, it's heavy and awkward so I wouldn't get it if you plan on transporting on your car roof, but if your looking for a single seat cheap bass boat that you can throw in the back of the truck and hit the road this is it. I am a 6' 7", 350 lb man and it holds me, all my fishing gear, a small cooler, marine battery and still tracks decent. I definitely recommend this kayak and this company. Whether you are a beginner that wants to get into fishing from a yak or you want to upgrade from a cheapo thin hull sundolphin and do some serious fishing, than this is the yak that will take your fishing to the next level and won't break your bank

Excellent purchase
Great company to do business with. The kayak was delivered in a timely manner and all parts were included as advertised. I had an issue with a broken clip and reached out by e mail and within 24 hours the replacement part was in the mail to me. Absolutely no hassle. They absolutely stand behind their product. If you are thinking about purchasing from BKC, I would highly recommend doing so. Great quality and service. I am totally enjoying my kayak . The only negative is that it didn’t come with instructions on how to adjust the rudder cables or attach the seat. However, it’s not rocket science and i’m Sure they would be able to help if you call them. 5 stars all the way.

Paddle On
This is an amazing kayak for the money. While a bit heavy, in the water it is very easy to paddle. Plenty of storage, great weight capacity as well which makes for kayak camping and overnight outings. The rudder is a great add on and well designed. Comfortable chair and good rod placements. Great kayak.

Decent kayak, some flaws
This kayak looked promising when I first set my eyes on it. I read the descriptions and looked at reviews. It seemed like it would be a great fishing kayak. It was really easy to set up, though I was first confused about strapping on the seat, but after playing around a bit it only took a couple of minutes to get everything in place. Surprised it came with scupper plugs already installed, so that's a plus. Also the paddles were included with rubber stoppers on both sides to prevent water dripping down the bar into the kayak. Really stable out in the water and even when standing, just as advertised. Kayaking in the past there's always water splashing into the kayak and soaking up my bottom thus being quite uncomfortable especially when I'm out in the water for more than an hour. So, I really liked that it came with the raised seat, compared to other kayaks I have rode on that cost twice as much. The compartments are quite nice that they come with the removable pouches so you can store other equipment inside the hull. There's two rod holders on both sides behind the sitting area which come with cover flaps; a nice addition. And a third rod holder that can be installed in front between the legs for ease. Although I don't actually like using the rod holders (I end up smacking rods when casting) I just place my rods on the sides and this being a wide kayak it has enough space for me to do that. I like that the rudder is metal so it doesn't get damaged if it hits something under water and it steers very well. Paddling is comfortable and natural, and it has good speed for a wider kayak.Okay, now to the things I didn't like about the kayak. I certainly did not like the handle/grip hole in front of the kayak. I have small hands so gripping it is not comfortable especially as the handle bulges out where the fingers would wrap around. The rest of the handles are also poorly designed. I transport kayaks over the roof of my car, so it requires me to lift it over my head. I use the method where you grab both handles on the left and right side of the kayak and roll it over onto the shoulders. However, I am unable to do this as the handles are installed on the side of the kayak instead on the topside as other kayaks I've dealt with. This results in them painfully pinching my fingers against the side when I attempt to roll it over onto my lap and shoulder. With the rear handle I have to dismantle the rudder just to be able to carry it as the rudder sits right over it. With the rudder in place the hand catches onto the metal sides and edges of the rudder which hurts a lot. Although I did like the seat at first, it is made of plastic wicker and it started coming undone and painfully poking my back. So, yeah, quite a bit of pain and discomfort designed into this thing. Also, not about the product but the shipping. My kayak was shipped through AM Trucking and took way longer to arrive than it was supposed to, which was supposed to be from five to ten business days. It ended up taking nearly a month to arrive, and when I did track my kayak I saw that it spent more than a week just sitting in their delivery terminal. They kept pushing the delivery date forward and even stopped updating the delivery date after the third week. I kept in touch with them and bugged them so much about it that they stopped answering my messages and finally delivered it two days later.Overall, the product itself is not terrible. Being on the lower end of kayaks in terms of price and quality there were negatives to be expected. Though I have ridden the cheap $200 kayak from Wal-Mart and it performed quite well, not to mention, it was very light and easy to carry. What I'm trying to say is there isn't a large difference between the super cheap kayak and this kayak in functionality and features, which at first seemed disappointing to me. However, it is sturdier, stable, and of course, better looking than the cheaper one. I'm the kind of person who looks at functionality more than quality or "price", so it is quite difficult for me to recommend this kayak. I don't feel like I made a mistake in buying this kayak, as this is the first one that I will own, and I am more than glad just to have it so I can go out fishing on the lakes and rivers. I would recommend it in a sense that any higher priced kayak offers very little, and I mean VERY little, difference in features, disregarding kayaks with pedal/propeller-drive systems. In fact, I've seen and ridden kayaks with less features than this one, but cost hundreds more, so really you're getting a good deal out of this one.To reiterate, the kayak feels great and stable in the water, cool rudder-control system, and nice hatches and pouches. However, poor grip and handle design/placement, and somewhat poor production quality of seat.

Weight rating very wrong. BUY A PERCEPTION
Don’t waste your money. The weight rating is way off. The kayak is not comfortable at all. Very unstable. They advertise that you can stand up in it. I don’t see how. The return process is a joke and very expensive. The customer service is like trying to call congress…. Impossible.

BKC nailed it!
Worth the investment! Loads of storage. Very stable. I am 235 lbs and am wonderfully comfortable in this model! Tracks very well. I couldn't imagine someone tipping it over.BKC support was very easy to communicate with. Prompt responses. They have the consumer in mind! The carrier would get a 1 star review. They received my order from BKC and then proceeded to let it sit on their dock for a week before getting it to me! Not cool!
