The is a well made, 3.5mm to 3.5mm (industry microphone jack standard) cable with gold plated jacks for higher quality sound. I am a professional musician and have a number of over the ear headphones that came with 3.5mm to 6.35mm (the industry standard for musical equipment such as keyboards and guitars, commonly referred to as 1/4 inch cable) cables. These cables allow me to connect the headphones to my keyboard, but a number of the headphones only have 3.5mm input jacks and I need a 3.5mm jack on the other end (not a 6.5mm) to hook the headphones up to my laptop.
