This is a gem of a device for a hobbyist. They are giving you a near lab grade voltage and resistance measuring meter here for a crazy inexpensive price. The nice gator clip leads top it off. Put it into a manual resistance mode and see for yourself. I could use this to make a very precise meter shunt because I can get a very precise resistance measurement across a short conductor, then see that reading decrease moving the probe a millimeter over. You are getting at least a couple extra digits of measurement you're not going to find on a DMM twice the cost or more. And yes, you can measure voltage and internal resistance of a battery at the same time with it.

I almost sent the FNIRSI HRM-10 Voltage Internal Resistance Battery Tester back because of the absolutely terrible user manual. After turning it on, and maybe my fault, I was stuck in the Chinese language. I could use the meter but I could not change the time and date or get to English. I managed to find my way to the setup menu, but of course it was in Chinese. I then remembered reading a review prior to purchase here on Amazon that gave some helpful hints. So I went back to the reviews and there was was. Thank you Roger.Following Roger's instructions I scrolled down to #8, which is language, and was able to select English. Then I was able to scroll to time and date and make the needed changes.How accurate is this little gem? Beats me, but you gotta have faith in something. Four stars instead of five.

WHY DO THEY SELL CHINESE LANGUAGE ONLY IN THE USA ?EVERYTHING IS IN CHINESE !IF A COMPANY CARES SO LITTLE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY DON'T EVEN OFFER LANGUAGE OPTION THEN THIS CAN GO BACK TO THE CHOPSTICK PARADISE IT CAME FROM !IT WILL PROBABLY BREAK IN A FEW MONTHS ANYWAY ....LIKE THE REST OF THE FINE MERCHANDISE MADE THERE

For many years I have desired a good, reliable battery tester - one that provides more insight than just how much voltage the battery puts out when not under a load. And on first glance this is a great looking metering device. The unit is well constructed and appears durable. It has a fold out stand to hold the unit in a vertical table top position for easy viewing. The leads appear to be sturdy for long lasting, trouble free service. The contact points are well insulated and can be used either as probes or as clips that will hold themselves attached to whatever. And the custom cut out foam padded carton that it arrives in can be use to safely store it between uses.The display is clear and bright (even adjustable dimmer or brighter). In its “Auto” mode it seems to clearly provide its information on voltage and internal resistance of the batteries being tested.But beyond those basics the manual - which provides very minimal instructions on its use – leaves it up to the user to figure out how to use this device. And in its default mode even has the menu selections provided in Chinese (not English). HINT: Hold down the right arrow button to pop up the settings menu. Then to the second page where selecting #8 will produce the language options (including English). Once that is selected is made it will make everything else more understandable.Even then, it is up to the average user to search online for how to interrupt the readings provided by this device. What follows is a summary of some of the most likely general information most people would need to know regarding what this device can measure:- In addition to a simple voltage reading this meter displays the internal resistance of a battery (defined as the resistance to the flow of current within the battery itself). Various different types and voltages of batteries exhibit a range of internal resistance.- Most non-rechargeable 1.5V batteries begin life with that full 1.5 volts or perhaps slightly higher. A reading of 1.2-1.3V is typically when they start to become weak. When their voltage drops to around 1.0 to 1.2 volts they are considered “dead” for practical purposes.- Internal resistance of AA alkaline batteries is typically about 1 ohm (ranging from 0.1 to 0.9 ohms) at room temperature, slightly lower when significantly colder and slightly higher when significantly warmer.- Resistance in lithium ion batteries is different. They generally have an internal resistance of 20 to 80 milliohms, with high-drain batteries typically having an internal resistance of around 12 milliohms, while “protected” Li-ion batteries (those that include an electronic circuit integrated into the cell itself to protect the battery against overcharge, over discharge, short circuit, over current, and high temperature) is below 70 milliohms.- A fully charged 12 volt car battery will show a voltage reading of about 12.2 to 12.6 volts. On these batteries a voltage below 10.5V under load is typically a sign that it has outlived its cycle life.- The internal resistance of a new 12 volt lead-acid battery is around 3 to 5 milliohms. As a battery loses its charge its internal resistance increases (reducing its power). A lead-acid battery with an internal resistance of 20 milliohms or above is considered bad.- The internal resistance of a 12 volt AGM car battery can be as low as 2%. In comparison, a flooded battery can have an internal resistance of 10-15%. The lower internal resistance means an increased battery voltage output while helping AGM car batteries recharge faster.
