Beautiful craftsmanship & Helpful instructional video
My first fountain pen, and I'm absolutely in love with it!The packaging is nice, it's easy to write with, and I'm very impressed by the intriguing design and exquisite craftsmanship. The marble stand is beautifully made and would also make a great paperweight. The extra free ink refill is a nice bonus! The instructional video on the Amazon page is very helpful for beginners like me. Worth every penny!!

Instructions a little choppy for a newbie like me, but there are plenty of helpful videos online
I like using the fountain pen setting for digital drawing, and had a boss once that loved fountain pens, but I don't know that I've ever actually used one. I've had the inclination ever since that one boss, and when I saw this, decided to act on it.The packaging is classy and everything is impressive, but it took me reading the instructions a few times and then finding the QR code, where there are even better instructions, before I trusted that I could do this without getting ink everywhere.A few tips that would have helped me in the start: The cap pulls off and pushes on; it is not a twisting cap. The nib and the grip are connected to each other; you unscrew the grip from the body of the pen to get to where you're going to put the cartridge. Some pens have room to put a cartridge, with a spare one behind it. That would be nice, but only one cartridge fits in this pen. To use the cartridge (I am going to learn the other way, but am sticking with the cartridge for now), look inside the grip and you will see a little post. You are going to press the narrower end of the cartridge onto that post. It doesn't take a lot of pressure, but try and do it straight on. Once mine was on the first time I kept trying to give it some direct pressure to make sure it was on solid, but it already was. Then you screw the grip back onto the body and you're ready to write! It might take a few minutes for the ink to flow into the tip, and there are helps in the instructions and PLENTY videos online getting you to this point and well beyond. I never knew fountain pens were so interesting! I'm glad to have this one. It's beautiful and has a good heft in the hand and writes WAY better than I expected... I haven't had one errant drop of ink yet. That is wootable =)I feel myself being drawn into this world, and even imagining my handwriting getting better.I still don't know all the ins and outs, like can I carry this with me to events and use it to sign things and such, and if so how big is the risk of it leaking? I still have a lot to learn, but I'm drawn to it because I like writing with this so much.I got lost in this and forgot to comment on the rest of the package. Like I said, it is packaged quite well, and the marble stand... I love it on my desk. Both because it looks good, and it lets me look at the pen =) It is kind of out of place in my common office, but rather than feeling like it's out of place, it makes the office feel better. Nice. It's totally a splurge, but I've been working on getting my health back and climbing back on some horses that I haven't ridden for a while. I got a nice planning book, some inspirational tools, and this is one more tool I'm using to get back into "the mindset."If you have something to splurge for, like that or for your own reason, this is a nice one =)Thank you for reading, I hope this was helpful.

Beautiful, but could not use
This pen is absolutely beautiful! I ordered in rose cold, and loved the metal combined with the marble pen holder. The design is intricate and interesting. It is a truly gorgeous piece to have decorate your office, home desk, or anywhere!Only problem is it is a paperweight more to me-- I couldn't get the ink to work well, It is most probable to be human error, but four of us in my office tried to set it up and couldn't figure it out. There are directions that come with it, but they didn't really make sense or the pen was useless when ink did flow from one of the refills
