It has several different sections where I have separated by pens, pencils, higlighters, sticky notes, etc. I love that it spins so that it is not a hassle when it comes to having to pick something out to use. I bought this to organize my pens, markers and other things on my desk. I like the separate compartments and the fact that it rotates. Makes it easy to get what I need in a tight space. This would also be perfect for makeup brushes.
