So intricate and fun to explore.
I bought this item as a personal reward for surviving a tough time at work, and this kit did not disappoint. There were so many intricate details added into the design that you don't necessarily notice unless you're building it, like the fully-functioning trap door with foldable ladder in the carpenter's two-story shop, or all of the functioning doors even including the door on the oven in the tavern, or the medieval wall-safe complete with gold in the third floor of the inn, etc. There are additional thoughtful details like the plastic dowels used to further strengthen the hinges between buildings or the pitchfork attached to the wagon that helps it stand up alone. The quality is everything you want and expect from Lego, and this provided hours of straightforward building fun. Although there are a lot of pieces, I could easily see younger builders in middle school or late elementary who would also get a kick out of building this (especially with an adult partner). Loved it!!

Fun details, great build.
Fabulous detail. I spent a half-hour describing all the features to my blind mother in law after Christmas dinner and she got a kick out of it. Roofs are a little tedious to build, but the overall construction is super solid. My crew worked on it over the course of three days. With 20-some bags of bricks, it's easy to share the building tasks.
