Q: This cracked while on the stove, full of boiling water. Is this common? It is dangerous.

I’ve never put mine over direct heat nor have I put hot liquids in it yet so I can’t really say why that happened. But this is what I found in the description of the product “ Our water glass jug can withstand temperatures from -4 ° F to 302 °F, so you can pour boiling water into this drink pitcher safely. stovetop safe(induction cooker is forbidden), and a small fire is recommended. ” But to me it seems like you followed the rules correctly so I would message the seller for a replacement. My handle came broken so they replaced it no problem.

I don’t remember where it was manufactured but I purchased 2 of them. They look fragile but really are made of a very strong material. I use both pitchers every day!

Q: Can the lid hold herbs and lemons from going through?

Yes it does …..there are two holes in the lid. One is an open FreeFlo and the other one is a series of 32 very small holes that basically acts as your strainer against lemons and herbs.
