Robert Johnson: Easy Guitar Collection

Excellent songbook. Only problem the first page seem to be a photocopy instead of a print - I don’t know whether that was on purpose! Can sing along to Robert Johnsons Songbook by Eric Clapton 😙

Great book of basic way to play Robert Johnson songs. Obviously not accurate to how he played them. For this you need alternate tunings. More aimed at begginers than seasoned pros.People claiming this book too easy should really stop trying to show off (why buy a book stating EASY) when you want everyone to know how good you are ? I've played guitar for 30 years and still found this book very rewarding. Great book, does exactly what it intends.

Even though this is arranged for "Easy Guitar" it's a lot of fun to play through the songs.All the Songs have an intro lick then the body of the song which is the melody line interspersed with a few licks and fills.Songs have a strumming pattern and a picking pattern which are given in a chart at the back of the book.There are sample pages available to look at so it's best to look at them before you buy to be sure this is the book for you.If you want an introduction to this style of music it's a pretty good introduction especially if yo van find it for less than £7 (~$10) inc post you won't go far wrong.

Good book

It's true that Robert Johnson possessed one of the most complex guitar styles ever recorded, showcasing a dazzling range of rhythm, fingerpicking and slide techniques that makes tackling the full transcriptions such a challenge. However at the other end of the scale is this version for Easy Guitar.It really is a simplistic set of the great man's songs, all in standard tuning with basic tabs that are little more than single-note melodies. It would have been nice if there had been at least some reference to alternate tunings and the simpler slide riffs. Still, you get lyrics and chord diagrams which are probably enough to provide a rudimentary platform for the beginner to begin exploring RJ's canon......

Robert Johnson made easy for when you fancy a thrash and don't want raised key tuning and a capo on yer new strings.

I thought it was excellent. Some people think it's too easy but all the lyrics are there and the song outlines so you can use your own guitar talents too embellish. Just like Robert Johnson would have.
