SO MUCH FUN, YOU CANNOT STOP PLAYING IT!!!
this is most probably the best game I have played in the past few years.I bought it for my daughter and we took it on vacation with us and we played with it everywhere we went. Several people at the restaurant in the hotel we stayed stopped by to play with us because we were having so much fun. The restaurant manager stopped in to play and several people at the hotel stopped to play as well. we were surrounded with people - strangers - who wanted to play with us. This is by far the most FUN game we've had the pleasure of playing with in a long time.It is a fairly easy game, my great nephew who is 6 played with us and loved it. Although it does say 14 and older it probably has more to do with the magnets used than with the level of difficulty as you could say it is fairly easy yet it is not.Anyway, go ahead and get one and start the fun all around you!!

More fun than a barrel of monkeys! (And almost as active.)
I bought this game for my roommate for Christmas. We had family over Christmas afternoon and this was the hit of the day. Everyone had a try at it and in just a few games we could see skills and gaming strategies developing. Not only did the players have a great time, but this has to be the only board game that I have ever seen that is even fun for spectators. Our guests left here wondering if there was a local store who carried Jishaku so that they could pick one up for themselves! We don't have any little ones in our families any more so I can't speak to its appropriateness for younger children. But I highly recommend this game for teens and adults. Would you believe a board game sucked in a couple of teen-aged video game addicts? I swear it's true.If we continue to enjoy it -- and I think we will -- I hope to get the wooden version for myself. (Maybe next Christmas.)

Jishaku Game
This item arrived early and was in excellent condition. It was a birthday gift, and is a fun and challenging game, but the instructions could be easier to follow. Otherwise a good addition to a collection of games.

Great quality, fun, but not exciting
It didn't keep the interest of my 6 or 8 year old for long, but I love playing with magnets and so I got my money worth out of it. The magnets are amazingly strong and I think we enjoyed playing with them on the glass coffee table more than anything (put one on top and one below and they are strong enough to the one on bottom or you can move one and it pulls the other along). The game play itself wasn't all that exciting, but they did provide some variants that kept us playing a couple different times.

Fabulous easy fun!
We really like this game - it's very easy and yet educational. The magnets are different sizes and therefore have different strengths. They also work positively and negatively. So kids are learning about polarity and strategy to get the magnets placed in the wells without attracting the others. And then, baam! Someone gets too close and the magnets fly to each other. The first person to place all their magnets wins! Kids from 3 to 100+ can play.

Jishaku - Easy and fun
There are two versions of this game. The relatively cheap plastic version I purchased and a nice wood table set for twice the price. It's a quick and interesting game that's easy to play. Just divide out the magnets and begin play, placing the magnets strategically in eggshell foam indents. It's tougher when several individuals play because the last person to take a turn will be at a total disadvantage, as it will be more difficult to place a magnet in a pretty full board without the magnet connecting to others in the area and that person having to pick them all up (leaving a virtually open board for the next player, which turns out to be the first player). The wood table set is nicer for adults who can just pick up a game at anytime.

Don't avoid the magnets, just avoid the game.
The magnets are stupidly strong. Even using smaller magnets and spending time trying to place them where they won't attract others, it is basically a game of "fill every other hole and whoever has to fill a neighboring hole is the loser." The only strategy involves counting holes and trying to place off-grid at a distance to force the "neighboring hole" problem onto the other player if it was previously your problem.I would recommend candyland or tic-tac-toe over this, because there's equal strategy and skill in both. Also, the box consists of a piece of eggshell foam in a thin plastic tray, a bag, and magnets you can pick up at any science store for a couple bucks. So that's what percent markup? Save your money.

Fun for all ages!
A truly unique game, fun for all ages. Combines mental acuity and fine motor skills. First saw it used in physical therapy sessions with seniors, and bought one for my family to use. Excellent quality magnets. The quality of the plastic base could be improved (thickened), but should hold up find so long as it's not abused.
