The Maono PD100X is a beautiful, highly effective, efficient microphone connected directly to a PC via USB or to a mixer like Maono G1 NEO via XLR. Depending on the application, the versatility of USB and XLR connections are a great plus for this microphone. The microphone has a definite fun appeal. The light patters add that a fun dimension that is quite mood inducing: from calm to excitement. The mic with stand is light weight and sits nicely on my desk. Although specifications are important, I relied on listening to the recordings through noise canceling headphones. First was a direct connection to the MacBook Air via USB. The gain is just below maximum level and several sample recordings. The next samples are through the Maono G1 NEO via XLR adding just a touch of reverb for a little depth. All samples are recorded on Voice to make mp3’s for later insertions in iMovie, etc. Listening carefully to both samples, I was impressed with the sound reproduction and tonal depth. With the adjustment in the mixer while adding a music track, the playback voice is better than my own. The clarity, accuracy and the crispness of the playback is very clear. This rivals the Shure mic I use for voice overlays in my videos but at 1/3rd the cost. Here is the summary: PROS: Sound reproduction is crisp and clear Indicators for headphone and mic gain are clear Usable with both USB and XLR Changing light patters are clever Connections into the mic are firm Mute button is responsive and sensitive The finish on the matted body has a nice feel CONS: At this price point, none really. BOTTOM LINE: The Maono PD100X is a great microphone for clear voice reproduction for podcasting and recording. It is in a nice looking, fun microphone that is usable in different platforms. This is a great find.

First time owning a microphone for Pc and maono brand is good love RGB light and Build quality is pretty good ,sound clear and maono noise cancelling software Is too good.ill got the tv running in the back round for the kids No sound that good. Thank ill pick this brand for my setup.

Great microphone at a good price

Well, I loved this microphone when I first used it, I put it away, pulled it back out to use it now many months later, and some of the issues that I first encountered seemed to be way worse? For starters, you can’t move the microphone at all while you’re recording because if you grab it and even brush against the mute button, there’s no way to click it and engage it. Which is beneficial if you don’t want to record that clicking noise. So that’s a plus if you’re going for that, just know that the mute button on the front of the microphone only needs to be touched for it to engage. Also, the dial in the front only goes to either/or settings. What I mean to say is if you turn it all the way to towards the left that’s the actual recording volume or the other direction to the right, it turns up your monitor volume (so it allows you to hear a monitor your volume if you’re singing/recording), but it’s either /or. Meaning you don’t get both. So if you can hear yourself singing, and you’ve turned the dial all the way in that direction then the volume for recording is turned all the way down if you turn it in the other direction, then your vocal volume that’s being recorded is turned all the way up, but you cannot hear yourself.. So, you can either turn up the vocal volume and hear yourself OR you can turn it the other way and hear yourself louder after you’ve recorded. It seems like a bit of a design flaw. And unfortunately, the noise cancellation? Is SO GOOD that if you don’t sing directly at the microphone, it will only pick up every few words that you sing loudest. But if I sing directly at the microphone, there’s a lot of static and snap pops. This microphone seems like it’s designed to me for vocal recording that’s not singing. Especially if you need a quick mute function? One that you don’t want your listeners or your recording to hear click on and off? If those are your goals, then this is a great microphone for that! I can see how it would be really good for that. Spoken vocals. For singing? I went ahead and got myself the next model up number from the same brand MAONO and I love it! Quality brand this model just isn’t ideal for my purpose.

Has a very nice and crisp sound. The videos I record using this mic are very clear and the software to control the background noise works great. Mic does not feel cheap at all and has great build quality. I ended up buying a boom arm to hold to my desk!

The mic is a wonderful color and it works with very clear sound. I am thoroughly impressed overall with the mics capabilities!

Very cool mic, works great. Unfortunately, our windscreen got damaged & the customer service at Maono has been nothing short of fantastic. They're taking care of the issue without hassle. Great company & good quality products!

Fijne microfoon om te gamen met vrienden via Discord. Met de monitor earbuds ingeplugd in de microfoon kan je je eigen spraak terug horen en afstemmen, dat is prettig, en als je dat niet wil kan dat natuurlijk gewoon uit. De RGB opties zijn beperkt maar geven wel een leuk sfeertje op je bureau. De software is prima, zou alleen zelf wat meer bijgeluiden willen filteren, maar voor de prijs is het een prima optie.
