Certified Respiratory Therapist Exam Review Guide (JB Review) 1st Edition

This book really helped me. I am from Canada and moved to the United States and was told I had to write the CRT Exam in order to keep my RRT designation that I earned in 2008! Moving on...I went meticulously through the first 6 chapters then got panicked as my exam neared. The day before my exam, I started going through the practice exams and quizzes on the CD. As I went through, I jotted down what concepts I did not quite grasp. After each exam try, I would use the index in the back of the book to look at the chapters where the concepts were explained. This really worked for me. That accompanying CD really helped me. I did really well on my exam with my first try.I studied a total of 5 nights and 3 days: 5 days with 3 hour sessions after work and 1 day for 8 hrs the day before. Worked for me folks.ONE MAJOR POINT: They should reissue a new version of this book. Some things MUST be updated and some of the criteria on this exam were not covered by this book. I did the practice exam on the NBRC website and used that to figure out the differences between the 2009 and 2014 exams

I used this text to help me study for my CRT exam and found it extremely helpful! The whole second chapter outlines test taking tips and what to do and not to do to prepare for your exam. All of the tips provided made perfect sense and were easily applied during the actual exam. The individual chapters break down every part of the exam matrix and help you to focus on points where you need work by providing a pre-test, reading material on subjects that are stressed on the exam (without being confusing or giving you a crazy amount of information), and then a post-test on the CD provided with the book.As I said before, this book was excellent. It was a great investment and I don't regret buying it. I did very well on my exam and I would recommend this book to anyone looking for suggestion on an easy to follow book that gives you the information you need to focus on for the CRT exam.

I had purchased this book to accompany my Kettering review books and I found it to be extremely helpful. This book thoroughly explains all aspects in respiratory care without unnecessary verbiage. I was able to gain full understanding of respiratory care not just memorizing as with my Kettering books. The accompanying cd had an excellent test bank with thorough explanations of the questions so I was able to learn in different ways. This book, especially the accompanying CD, is a fantastic study aid for passing the CRT. There are 160 questions on the CRT. Passing score is about 86!! But I would say that even though I made nearly straight As in a two year respiratory program, I still needed this book. It will save you a lot of time because everything is in this book. It will save a lot of money because you won't have to repeat the test.

It goes along with the matrix - which is confusing for study in the first place. So it helps students study in that way, especially when they fail the first time, and are weak in 1 or 2 areas and cannot figure out what the problem is, or how to study for it. This really targets how to study their weak areas. I am instructor, and recommend it for them.

This is a well laid out study tool the chapters are well organized and the information is detailed , it is a good tool for the new graduate as well as someone renewing their license.,

The software was the most helpful in getting review questions in.The book was a little light on material even for CRT in my opinion as a 5 year Omni ICU RT.

While studying for my RRT & CRT, this book was OK but I actually passed my test by using a website called tutorial systems

Hi there, Im sure this book is useful for entry level CRT's but if you're Canadian going for RRT, don't bother!
