WEN 20V Max Brushless Cordless 1-3/16-Inch Pruning Shears with 2.0Ah Battery and Charger (20731)

I had to cut some of the cement fiber boards inside a confined space (shower) and was concerned about dust if I was to use circular saw. So, I bought these shears. Good investment. They cut clean (as much as it possible with cement board that likes to crush) and the dust is not airborne, rather it falls down as you cut. Alternative to the shears would be a jig saw - I learned it in the process, I used jig saw to cut big holes in the cement board. But keeping a straight line is more difficult with jig saw compared to these shears. Some people complained about broke blades. I, knocking on wood, had no such problem. But I noticed that fibers from the board get stuck between blades. I am thinking if enough of them get stuck there - they can easily break the blade. I am cleaning fibers from there after each cut. You you need to catch a thread and pull it as you turn on the shears. All in all - great investment for diyer like me. Very cheap and practical. I cut about 10 boards so far. If it does not break on me in the next two - I’d say it paid for itself.

This is a great tool at an awesome price. I am usually cautious when tools come at lower price points, but these delivered. Bought them to cut hardware cloth (wire mesh) for a chicken coop & run project, Used these to cut flashing and metal roofing as well. Cuts through metal with ease, easy to operate, makes clean straight and curved cuts. Best of all, it is so much faster than hand snips and no hand cramps!

Works great! A little on the bulky side but still does the job well.

I purchased the WEN metal shears for a mini barn that I was building. I have not worked with sheet metal siding or roofing in the past so searched for a corded shear to make my flat cuts. These shears are great for flat sheet metal and some small ridges but use caution that they do not cut large ridges like pole barn siding. But these types of shears are not made for that type of cutting and ended up using an angle grinder for cuts that the metal shears could not do. I especially like the swivel option to be able to hold the shears at more comfortable angles and do a great job of creating a clean strait cut when following your lines. Overall the WEN metal shears are very easy to use and are great quality that will work nicely for my next project!

great tool for the money . after very little practice was able to do very good cuts .

This was the first time buying and using a tool such as this. I thought the price was fair. We used the tool for cutting up a large above ground pool. It would have cost nearly $400 to have it done by a pool service. The pool was 54 inches high and 27 feet in diameter. The pool was still upright with the top railings removed. Being new at this, the first few cuts were quite rough. The angle of cut is the key issue. The cutter has to be held more vertical in order to get a smooth and complete cut. Once we figured that out...the rest of the cutting went very fast and smooth. I am a tool guy and found this to be a fun project. Seeing that I had no other use for the tool, I gave it to my son to use on his racing car. After most races he needs to repair the damaged metal and says that it is an excellent metal shear.

I used this metal shear for cutting chicken wire cloth. Overall, it works well if you are cutting along the line of the wire mesh squares. However, it doesn't work well if you need to cut at a crossing angle. The wires get caught in the shear, and you have to constantly untangle the jaws. For straight cuts, it will save you a lot of time to use this electric shear rather than manually cutting the wires.

An inexpensive too. We were doing a big underside deck screening for home insurance and this made it a ton easier. Cut the screen like a hot knife through butter.

Very impressed on the trial cuts . I am cutting 18 gauge steel with ease compared to grinding . I would say I can cut 8ft in under 1 minute no problem with this tool vs 2 zip discs , potential personal damage and about 10 minutes , yes , this steel is very hard Good buy for the buck for my purposes

Great price and looks heavy duty however has US pin plug so have to purchase an adapter for AUS power plug

Great tool .I use it quite often, it cuts 20 guage sheet metal with ease .
