BEST HEAVY DUTY DESIGN!
We bought 3 different brands of this type of Bait Station. This Pestco is almost exactly like the Tomcat Bait station ... But ...The Pestco has a slanted ramp inside that the Rats, Mice, Gopher's or Vole's walk UP after they enter the round hole! This ramp is very important in our paticular situation. We planted 3,000 seedling trees three years ago and Vole's, Gopher's, Mice are digging down and eating the new little root system to these new trees. With the Tomcat Bait Station the little predator's try their best to drag dirt inside of the Bait Station and make a DIRT home where the poison is located. With the Pestco the SLANTED RAMP prevents them from dragging dirt inside! We think they are both excellant but for the reason of the SLANTED RAMP ... in our paticular situation we like the Pestco Bait Station which works best for us. We buy buckets of "One Bite II" Which works 100% for us in our situation.

Heavy duty bait station
I was impressed with this bait station. Wherever you put it, it'll stay.It is heavy.I'm not a fan of causing harm to animals but sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.I have 3 sheds I can use this in as well as in the crawlspace of my home. Unfortunately, at this time, I have decided not to use it.Although I like the idea of being able to rid the sheds and under my house of mice, there are other worries to think about.I've already had a mouse die under the house and the smell went through my heating ducts. It was not pleasant by any stretch of the imagination.Imagine if a bunch died under the house.Another possibility is the fact that I have opossum and other wildlife on my property. If a mouse dies and the opossum eats it, the opossum too will die. Imagine how my yard will smell then.I have a breeding female opossum living on my property. She gives birth 3 times a year and I always get the babies in my yard for a few months until they wander off to find their own place.I rescue opossums, I don't cause them harm. For those reasons, I can not bring myself to use this bait station although I would if I didn't have to look at the big picture. We did pick up bait for it so it's ready to go when we decided to use it.I appreciate the fact that it's heavy and comes with a key. If the mice were to die inside this bait station, I would be more inclined to use it. Since they don't, at this time I can't use it but for those that can, I do recommend. If situations change and I find myself needing to use this in the future, I will update accordingly.

No instructions!
This is a heavy duty, large bait station for mice and rats. It arrived in a box with no instruction. I have never had a similar item, and I was confused about how to use it. It took me some time to realize that there was an opener included that can open the box. Once I figured out how to open, I noticed there was a big stone like heavy item inside, which I mistakenly thought it was the bait. This heavy piece was not the bait, it was included to make the bait station heavy so that it stays in place. There were four metal sticks included. After looking at some online pictures, I figured it out that these are meant to hold the bait. There was no bait included, but I had some baits available from another trap. However, these baits were hard and I could not place them on the sticks. I just placed them horizontally. After locking the bait station, I placed it in the garage to prevent a mice infestation. I have seen no mice, so either this trap is effective or there are no mice around. Now that I figured it out how to use it, I am very pleased with this trap and I would recommend it!

Powerful Bait Trap!
This bait unit is extremely powerful for use on the perimeter of my property. It has spots for four baits at a time and is weather-friendly. It stays outside year round and does exactly what I need it to. I'm very pleased with the quality and value of this item. I asked a question about the bait and was very kindly given a perfect explanation! This is a fantastic company to purchase from.

Don't forget to buy the key so you can open the GD thing!
I'm only giving this three stars and giving this product the benefit of the doubt it is okay as I cannot use it -no let's come with it- now 3 mores days for effing key. I may revisit the review after I've had a chance to use it. Beware however, the effing key sold separately.

Heavy Duty
This bait station is way more heavy duty than the cheaper bait stations at my local hardware store. It is heavy. It weighs 10 pounds on my scale. I don't have to worry about if blowing around in a storm. I don't have to worry about someone accidentally stepping on it either. I weigh 200 pounds and I can stand on top of it with no issues. This looks like a product that can handle being left outdoors for years. One negative is it came with no instructions. I also don't like that the only way to open it is with the provided plastic key. I wish there were a backup way to open it with a common tool like a screwdriver in case the key gets lost. I also wish it had a small window so you could quickly check the status of the bait without having to pull out a key and open it up.
