Pythagoras was born in the Greek island of Samos. He is considered one of the most important Ionian Greek Philosophers, but he has contributed to many other fields including mathematics (e.g. the famous Pythagorean theorem), music and religion. Pythagoreanism was one of the first, if not the first, movements heavily influencing and promoting the concept of vegetarianism! This is a very elegant statue sculpted in great detail and colored with pale/yellowish patina to take an "antique" style. Ideal for those interested in philosophy, science and religion, as well as those following a vegetarian lifestyle!
