Great
We now own 2 Innotabs due to kids fighting over the Innotab 2 we had already. This improved model is great, mostly because of the chargeable internal battery rather than the stupid AAs in the Innotab 2. We just gave up putting batteries in and ran it from the mains. This one is fab. Games and software is maybe a bit limited for older kids but ideal for our 3 and 5 year old. We haven't used the web browser or messaging service as not really needed. Love the fact they can have their own music and videos on there too.

Total waste of money!
Bought for my just turned 4 year old, his sister 8 had the hudl for Christmas , should have got them both Hudls ! It's incredibly slow both in response to the touch screen and changing between apps or booting up. THE GAMES ARE SOOOOO BORING I cannot get my son to play them and at £14.99 even on a serious offer they are incredibly expensive where there are millions of amazing free games on google play, he played with it for half an hour now doesn't want it, i will put it on ebay and maybe will do for someone's two year old! Don't buy this it's rubbish! Get a tablet and put parental controls in.

But one they're ace and ignore the naysayers.
This us a great product for kids and that is who it is for remember. My son's has taken a he'll of a battering and hasn't broken. Don't listen to the reviews which slate it as: 1) It is more durable than an Android tablet or iPad 2) I converted the videos first-time and it isn't that difficult people. 3) Of course you need a computer to set it up 4) The carriage games are really good and educational but I would stay away from the learning lodge games. 5) Did I mention it's for kids people

good value but excruciatingly slow
We bought this for our 3 year old for Christmas. He got into it very fast and I was surprised at how quickly he sussed out how to access the games, etc. After a lot of false starts, I did eventually work out how to convert some of his favourite DVDs and load them to it. This was a key reason why we got it, as he had managed to break our iPad a couple of months previously. But it is *painfully* slow to turn on, switch between applications and so on. The appeal of having his own "commuter" means that he (at the moment at least) can accept the slowness, but if I'd known how slow it was, I would have looked more seriously at one of the kid-focused android tablets. Overall, it is good value at less than 50 quid, but don't pay more than that for it.

It's good but there are a few bits that could be improved
I actually purchased 2 of these for xmas presents for my 19mth old and 4 year old girls. I realise that the recommended age is 3 OR 4 years plus but the only way to avoid fighting over it was to buy one each! Mostly, it's too complicated for my 19mth old to play properly although she loves the art studio and can work it with no problems, the maths etc on the cartridge games is obviously too advanced. Some of the free downloads are fab for her age group though. For my 4 year old, it's almost perfect, she loves it! the games are educational and we know that she can't get anywhere that she shouldn't be on it. As an adult, there are a couple of things that need improvement 1. the wifi isn't great, mostly we bought these so that we could re-claim our tablets as the kids wanted cbeebies games on them whenever they saw us on them, unfortunately, cbeebies doesn't work on these so we have the same problem still. 2. they're not the fastest, the delay isn't too bad but lets face it, kids aren't renowned for their patience! 3. the screens - they work great, until you get crumbs under the sides. For some reason, the screen isn't sealed at the edges but is actually sealed about an inch under the plastic casing. This wouldn't be a problem as such if it wasn't for the fact that if crumbs get caught under here, it stops the touch screen from working. Although we don't allow the kids to eat/drink near the tabs, crumbs from furniture/clothing etc have still become lodged under here. The first time it happened we returned the tab to the shop (1 of them was bought on the highstreet)and they exchanged it as their tech team couldn't get it to work either. It happened again this weekend and only from a random google search was I able to find someone had had the same problem and remedied it with some sticky tape to remove the crumbs. I'm currently looking at whether the screen protectors would cover the edges of the casing to keep the muck out.

Great for young children
Purchased for my clumsy nephew. He loves it and now has several game cartridges. I gave it to him when he turned 3 and he picked up how to use it very quickly and doesn't go anywhere without it. He's now 4 and still enjoys it. There is good battery life and without any extra casing on the item it has survived many drops (even a couple of times down the stairs) The camera isn't amazing but enough to keep a young child entertained

do not buy this.
I bought this for my 4 year old son for his Christmas. I am so disappointed in this product. I tried several times to downloadthe learning lodge. it did not download and therefore I have no access loading any apps. I didn't realise that the apps would cost money to download (2-5 euro a pop) if I could download them. so now I'm stuck with an unusable product that cost 70 euro and my son is heartbroken, I couldn't send it back as it was out with the 30 days return policy. spend a bit more money and get you kid a tablet in my opinion a much better option! do not buy this!

innotab 3s
very disappointed with this product, my son previously has the innotab 2, which was great fun but useless for batteries. the new innotab3s is much slower and the camera quality is shockingly dark, it is impossible to take a good pic on it!!!
