Lovely little intelligent display
These displays have bright crisp screens and a fast ESP32 with an inertial sensor, battery management and an RTC. At the moment, this one is employed as a portable WiFi spectrum analyzer, one of the examples provided in the Waveshare Wiki. The resolution is amazing. As with all Waveshare displays, you have to jump in your Way-Back time machine and set your libraries to the exact date and time the examples were written to make the drivers function, but small price to pay for the image quality sophistication at this price point.

Great little dev unit
This esp32 unit was very useful in my project I am currently working and not only included all the features and ports I needed but did so with a great image as well! Will definitely be using more of these in future projects!

So poorly documented as to be basically useless
I'm a pretty big fan of the similar Waveshare round screen 1.28" ESP32 device, but this one is ridiculous. The device works and executes code and all that is fine. Trying to get the display working with the information has been a fool's errand. And this is not my first Arduino, ESP32 or TFT_eSPI rodeo.Back in the parts box for this one. When I next need an ESP32 with connectivity and no display, I can always use it for that.

The product is great, documentation was hard to find!
The media could not be loaded. Great product but had a hard time finding code examples that would work. The waveshare examples don't work. Had to write my own. (Maybe it's a skill issue lol)

Nice screen resolution but poor wiki instructions make it difficult to use for beginers
Nice screen resolution and board size at a reasonable price. I like the touch capabilities and compact design for a project I'm building.Where this falls terribly short is in the Waveshare wiki. I'm not sure if it's out of date and there have been updates to the libraries (LVGL,Arduino GFX and Espressif), but I had to fuss and fiddle for hours to get a couple of the examples to work. This could be a great product if they update and clean up the instructions on their wiki and github. As it is now, it feels like it is shipped without testing and definitely not for beginners.

Not good
Could never get it to work. I've used many other esp32s, these aren't good

Neat device, needs updated documentation
The wiki for this device is a bit lacking as compared to other Waveshare products. Most of the demos/libs provided all errored out complaining about missing this or that. No real information as to what version of specific libs should be used for the various examples. Not for beginners, in my opinion.
