ALMOST Perfect!
This case is almost perfect. Yes, its heavy, but the inside being magnetic and removable is fantastic; it allows you to just remove it if you're holding it for browsing the web, etc. and lose the extra weight of the external case. I love the multiple angles, and being able to raise it will be great for planes. I do wish the pencil charging area was more secure so I don't have to worry about the pencil falling off. The case looks high end and classy as well. I won't be putting stickers all over this one (I don't think they would stick). I am probably too old for that anyway :)

I thought Zugu was great, but this is the unicorn!
This is the unicorn iPad case I never even knew I needed! I had a Zugu case on my old iPad, and I while I was not a big fan of the bulk while holding it, the stable stand always there when you need it was well worth it. Well, when I had a bougie moment and upgraded to the new iPad Pro right away, I went to Zugu only to find that they didn't have a case for it yet. Turned out to be in my favor, as it led me to this ESR case! They not only solved the bulk issue, they went above and beyond to make the best case I have ever used.ESR has all the features of the Zugu - the stable, adjustable stand with lots of levels, a pencil/stylus holder in the back in addition to pencil support on the side, and the ability to attach it to a magnetic surface like your fridge. And I will say, the Zugu materials do feel a little more premium, but it is also a more expensive case. The ESR still feels/looks high quality and brings extra features that I love.Top feature - it's a two-part case. It has a slim fit back-only case that magnetizes to the cover, so it instantly pops out for holding while still protecting the iPad. This is the game changer that gives you both protection of a bulky case and the convenience of a magnetic smart cover. And then there's the feature I didn't even know I needed, the elevated stand! It holds the iPad up at a higher level for noticeably less strain on the neck when watching or using it on a table. I thought it might feel unstable propped up that high, but it does not. The magnets hold it tight and it balances the weight well, possibly even enough to withstand my iPad-loving cat! Also thanks to the magnets you can pop it on the stand in portrait mode, another thing the Zugu case doesn't offer. Good for book reading, or the occasional annoying app that doesn't support landscape mode.It supports the Apple Pencil on the side, but in a much more subtle way - there's not a raised portion shaped like a pencil going "something should be here that's not!", it's just a subtle indentation with rounded ends that I know is for the Pencil, but it isn't very noticeable. Big plus over the Zugu there, as I think it looks weird just sitting there empty on that case as I have no Pencil. And lastly, it has that nice little fabric stylus/pencil holder in the back - I like to use a regular mesh-tipped stylus and that keeps it right on hand, think it's even the same fabric Zugu uses. But if you don't want to use it, it doesn't get in your way like a loop-style holder. The back case fits the new iPad perfectly, all the ports buttons etc line up, and the volume and power buttons on the case are nicely raised. Switching it around in the various configurations is super simple as it just snaps where it needs to be, and it passed the fridge magnetization open-shut door test with flying colors. Love the purple color, and the fact that the darker portions on the cover and stylus holder are a matching darker shade of purple, it's clear attention to detail went into this.Only tiny downside i noticed is that while the cover has great magnets on the back, the front cover part seems to have very weak ones, so it doesn't really snap closed and could possibly fall open in a bag if it's not tucked in right. But that is minor at best and honestly sometimes stronger magnetized covers annoy me, so I could go either way.Seriously, stop looking and buy this case. It's amazing.

Hesitant at first, but I love the case now!
Very easy install and more options than cases you would buy from a big brand store. The case is also screen protector friendly unlike some other cases, so you wont really have to worry about the case squeezing the edges and possibly making your screen protector come up. Although the main detachable case part is not extremely rigid, it does protect all around the device and the buttons aren’t too bad either. All in all, I do wish it was a bit more sturdy and more drop protection, this case isn’t bad for the price and features it include compared to the other brand similar brand that is missing some features.

Good but not great
I love my iPad. And I always keep a fairly new model. I just bought the latest model announced this month. So I immediately looked for the Zugu iPad cover but it was not yet out and I did not see any press release on when it might be released so I looked at the various other covers. So I selected this cover since it has many of the “must have” features of the zugu…and it was a bit less $$. I just hoped it was the same high quality as zugu.I am rough on my iPads and I need a cover that can take the abuse. I use it 8-10-hrs/day and prop it up a bazillion different ways. This new cover does look/act, for the most part, like a Zugu. If I had to guess, this company used the Zugu as their guide. What do I like about this version? I like that it is very close to the Zugu design. I like that it is a bit cheaper in cost (but it is also made more cheaply). It also has a feature where I can flip the iPad from landscape mode to portrait mode but I have not used that a bit, preferring/requiring landscape mode for my needs. I have a need for landscape mode once every few years. What do I not like about it? Primarily it just seems cheaply made. The tactile feel that I get with Zugu is better, less plastic and more leathery. Do not get me wrong, it is far, far better than 95% of the iPad cover choices out there but Zugu sets a high std and this one just seems a bit underwhelming compared to the Zugu.I also hate that the new Apple pro pencil falls out of the ipad case’s “charging station” constantly. The case barely holds it in place and if you just stand up quickly, the pencil, which is held in place by magnets that are too weak, falls to the floor. My pencil has fallen twice in two days and I never knew it…forcing me to go look around the house for it. There is a secure place to store the apple pencil but the pencil pro drains its internal battery quickly and, in order to be useful, must be kept in the loosely-goosey charging station in order to be ready to use when you need it. If you plan to buy the new Apple Pencil pro, it may be a non-starter for you.Update 07/15/24: The Apple Pencil when sitting in the charging station on the cover continues to fall off at least twice a day. And if you put the pencil in the more secure stretch fabric holder on the back side of the cover, it loses its charge quickly. As a result, EVERY SINGLE TIME I need to use my Apple Pencil, the battery is dead. In order to use the pencil, I need to anticipate its use by 15-minutes and get it in the charging station. That does not work for me. I never know I will need to highlight a phrase or circle a paragraph until I read it/see it. Then waiting 15-min for the pencil to charge is not acceptable. My Zugu arrives today and this cover which I bought just a month or two ago, will just be a bad memory.I will buy the Zugu case the day it comes out.Note : I have no ties to either company. I know no one who works in either company. I bought the cover from Amazon at full price out of my pocket. I had hoped this company’s product would exceed my expectations. But, as I indicated above, I like the Zugu iPad covers a bit better…enuf to pay $20 more to get one.
