The GWood Chipper Shredder Mulcher Leaf Vacuum Kit is a heavy-duty accessory designed for efficient yard cleanup. With a 4-inch by 10-foot hose, it easily handles light, loose, dry waste like leaves and grass clippings, making outdoor maintenance faster and more effective. Safety is emphasized, encouraging users to wear protective gear while using the vacuum. This tool is engineered for small waste, ensuring a clean and tidy landscape without the hassle of traditional raking.

The hose is only as good as the machine it is attached to.
I bought this hose to compliment my Great Circle chipper/shredder purchased at the same time to shred Autumn leaves. I found it more convenient than lifting armfuls/shovelfuls of leaves into the hopper at my age (70). It worked well although with large wet leaves it was better to just lay the hose down in the pile and feed it with a rake than using the handle to vacuum them. It worked well and greatly reduced the size of the pile at the same time as converting the leaves to tiny compostable particles. It was subject to jamming if I got overenthusiastic about feeding it, but the jams were almost always right at the intake and easy to clear.

Vacuum attachment
This attachment was specified for a chipper-shredder. When it arrived, the plastic hose adapter for the access opening on the back of the machine did not have pre-drilled holes that matched those on the machine. It required three new holes to make the match. Minor inconvenience. Otherwise, the attachment does a fairly decent job of vacuuming leaves, though they must be nearly dry.

Great Concept, Poor Functionality
The G Store leaf vacuum kit failed to be useful with my Landworks wood chipper/shredder (model LCE06). I ordered the vacuum kit in November 2023, a few days after ordering my Landworks chipper/shredder because it was described specifically as being compatible with the Landworks brand. I was excited about using the vacuum to clear my yard of the autumn leaves. I assembled it and attached it to my shredder shortly after it arrived. The vacuum hose appeared to be durable, and it was easy to attach to my shredder. Aside from these positive attributes, the vacuum attachment was completely useless to me. There was very little suction (with no suction most of the time) while trying to use the vacuum with the shredder. That was the case even with the shredder’s damper closed. I finally gave up, disconnected the vacuum from my chipper/shredder, and proceeded to put the leaves in the shredder’s hopper by hand, which took significantly less time compared to fumbling with the vacuum.I am submitting this review now because I noticed the vacuum kit on a shelf while cleaning my garage this summer. I was reminded of how frustrated I was with its poor function. The G Store leaf vacuum kit might work well for other shredder brands or other models of Landworks shredders, but it failed to be functional with my shredder.

Works best with dry leaves
After using the vacuum attachment a second time, I found better ways to use it more efficiently. I raked leaves into a pile to dry a bit. Then I just placed to vacuum head near the leaf pile and slowly pushed the leaves close enough to get suctioned into the hose. Long sticks sometimes cause a clog but are fairly easy to loosen by pushing with a stiff piece of wood. I noticed the hose clogs quickly when it’s time to empty the bag. Again, wet leaves clog worse than dry leaves but can be loosened with a stick.

OK for this one time job. Not a long term solution
Before I bought this I read other reviews so I had a pretty good idea what problems I was going to run into.I'm doing a significant push in my woods to clear out the trash underbrush and the piles of old leaves that are a breeding ground for ticks. I needed a tool that could mulch the leaves, but I have stumps and other debris hidden under years worth of leaf litter. I very much wanted to mulch the leaves and leave them since the soil in my area isn't great, and the decomposing leaves are important. The biggest problem I have with this solution is how easily it clogs with sticks. To give an idea of what is happening the sticks are getting sucked across the opening, and the leaves then catch themselves across the stick. It's super easy to clear, you just pull the stick off and away we go. Unfortunately this happens incredibly frequently. Lucky for me I have a teenager and we tag team. He rakes up leaves into a pile for me, and when I clog I just lift the hose, he pulls the sticks, and I'm back at it.This does not clear debris fast, and as others have stated it has been far more effective to rake the leaves up and clear out individual piles. It did clog a few times down the line. Those were times a smaller stick made it in, and flipped on the way in, and those are slightly more irritating to clear, but didn't kill my time.In the end, this won't make my project a whole lot faster, but I don't have a better way to mulch the leaves in the areas our dogs and kids tend to go. Once we've cleared it up I'll be able to see and eliminate all the stump issues and go back to a more standard mulching mower.I would not recommend this for consistent use in less specialized situations. There are other, better tools. If you have a setup like mine this will do the job, and it's not horribly inconvenient.

Great attachment for wood chipper for mulching leaves.
The vacuum comes with 2 different adapters to connect it to your wood chipper. The directions don't indicate which one is needed based upon your chipper, so you just have to figure it out. Was a bit confusing at first, but not a show-stopper. It takes a while to learn the best approach for mulching piles of leaves. The tube can get clogged at times, but once you learn how to use it, it is much easier than dumping piles of leaves into the top feeder of the chipper. The product seems very durable. I'm glad I purchased it.
