This will be a good start into plein air painting however it's not the heavy duty you'd expect. It functions but the material isn't as heavy duty but for the price, I'm happy to practice before upgrading. It is fairly easy to put together, the instructions are pretty easy to read. It comes with the travel bag and stores nicely.

This works well, it's lightweight and easily portable. I like the adjustability a lot! Pretty durable so far.

This easel is very nice and it's easy to use. The quality overall is very good. Setup was easy but I had issues getting the base part on the back bar though. It seems the metal loop on the base isn't wide enough to easily slip onto the back bar. I actually had to take a tool and bend it a bit so that I could wlide it on. Once I did that, it wasn't too hard to get the screws on the legs to pop into the slots on the base and then start painting. I like this easel because it's versatile. With the legs collapsed, I can set it on a table, with them extended, I can set it on the floor and get it to the height I need to paint comfortably.

This is a very portable and light weight art/painting easel. The construction is made of aluminum and plastic. All of the parts collapse down to a length of 18 inch by 3.5 inch wide. It is easily transportable in its included travel bag.I needed to tighten every screw on the tripod before using it. Every thing was too loose and unstable when I tried using it for the first time. I tried it with a 24x36 framed poster at its maximum height. I was able to get it to work but it was really too unstable for a large piece that wasn't even heavy.The parts don't really tighten down enough to support anything middle weight and above. The easel does accommodate a full 36 inch item which is great. The easel needs to be set lower for stability with bigger items but works best with smaller canvases of 18-24 inches. For a light weight, portable, and affordable beginner easel it's OK. 3 stars.

I did have to refer to the directions, which were pretty easy to follow, to figure out how to put this together, but it went smoothly and I had no trouble with it. It seems decently sturdy, as much as any easel can be. I don’t feel like it will fall apart or anything, but of course, it will tip over if bumped or if you put something too heavy on it. Packs away into the storage bag, although it is a bit of a puzzle to get it to go right.

I would not want to carry this for more than a block or two, if i was going on a hike to paint, because it is quite heavy, and will feel much heavier the longer you carry it. Plus you also need to take your painting supplies. But it is a good heavy duty metal easel which you can use at a variety of heights for sitting or standing to paint. The cross bar and attached velcro strap is very awkward and does not fit into place well, but once you get a canvas snugly in place it will be fine.

Definitely recommend this easel. It has 3 different lengths, it comes with a thin platform that is used to rest the board. This can also be used at different widths and heights. And then it has a clip at the top to keep it in place. The easel can then fold really small and placed into a nice carrying case for storage. I used the easel to hold a welcome sign for a wedding and it was amazing since it had a clip at the top. The easel stayed in place and didn't fall over even though it was outside.
