Pennington Smart Seed Kentucky Blue Grass Mix 3 lb

Pennington grass mix did sprout patches of grass and it is thick and hearty. However be careful when spreading as it also grew grass in my flower beds! I would buy again.

I found this Kentucky grass seed here on Amazon and after about 2 weeks my bare ground was sprouting green. I started off by raking the dirt down about 2 inches. Sread a heavy layer of seed and lightly relaxed. Watered twice a day all summer and now I have a very think lawn.

Seemed to work okay. I put it down on the spots that needed the most help and some areas took to the seeds, other areas have not. Probably beat used mixed with a fertilizer in the early stages of spring.

Seed was planted a month ago and so far, no germination. Planted with rye grass which I have cut twice. Temperature average in the low 60s, watered every other day, soil is garden soil from an old garden, plenty of sun. 10-10-0 fertilizer used. May take longer to come up, I do not know. Will update if I get any grass. It has now turned cold, 40s so do not expect germination.

This is the worst grass seed I've ever used. Over 40 years, I have seen cross contamination with seeds that don't always grow grass, but this literally grew nothing. It was planted on bare, black soil, and lightly watered daily for a week, then every other day for a week. The soil remained damp, but not wet. There were zero sprouts. 8 would guess that it was a bag of starter fertilizer, and their manufacturing process omitted all the seed. Doubley frustrating is the importance of timing when planting grass around here.

This is mixed with fertilizer and had heavy amount sprout within a week. It continues to sprout more and is growing well.n

Definitely would order just brand again. The Seeds did great and really popped up like they were supposed to. Bought other name brand several times before and they did not come up as well as this product did.
