Good Idea...But the technology is not there yet,
I had high hopes for these cameras. and I was excited to get them and finally be free of wires. My previous system was also a Swann system and it was great until they abandoned the APP, and I could not see the cameras on my phone anymore First the good part. The cameras do have good range, and had a signal from the farthest parts of my property. And Swann dose have good support that is always available to help, and tried to help me solve my issues. BUT... The first issue I had with these cameras is that they (and I was told by swann support all battery powered cameras) only come on when they see motion. so if you have them connected to a monitor, what you see most of the time is a still picture of the last time they sensed motion. And I like to see a continuous live feed of what's happening in front of my house. to make that worse, the motion sensors don't work well. People would get to my door, and ring the bell without the cameras sensing them. One time 3 people walked out of my house, got into a car and drove away and the system never sensed them. and continued to show the car in my driveway (and I did have the motion sensitivity all the way up). But the worst part and the deal breaker for me was the solar charging system, IT DOSEN'T WORK AT ALL. I fully charged the cameras before putting them up. and in bright direct sunlight they only stayed powered for 3 days. then they died and I had to remove them and bring them inside and charge them back up. This was the deal breaker for me and I returned them, Additionally I had a couple cameras that were not in direct sunlight, under trees or a porch. I tried to power them with a wire, but they are powered by a USB wire which dose not have enough voltage and amperage and dose have to much resistance at 50' to power the cameras.

Outstanding Wireless 4K NVR System for Home Security
I recently purchased this Wireless 4K NVR System for my home security needs, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. As someone who values top-notch security, I extensively researched various options and found this system to be the perfect fit. The installation process was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly instructions provided. Within minutes, I had the cameras up and running, covering all the key areas around my property. The wireless outdoor cameras are robust and weatherproof, ensuring uninterrupted surveillance regardless of the conditions. The 4K resolution delivers crystal-clear video footage, allowing me to capture every detail with precision. Whether it's daytime monitoring or night vision, the cameras excel in providing high-quality images round the clock. The night vision capability is particularly impressive, providing clear and detailed footage even in low-light conditions. The system's WiFi connectivity is reliable, offering seamless integration with my smartphone. I can easily access live feeds, review recordings, and receive alerts for any suspicious activity. The motion detection feature is incredibly accurate, minimizing false alarms and keeping me informed of genuine security concerns. In terms of durability and performance, this NVR system exceeds expectations. It has enhanced my home security setup significantly, providing peace of mind knowing that my property is well-protected. I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a top-of-the-line security camera system for both indoor and outdoor use, especially those seeking exceptional night vision capabilities.

Wireless Range is Great
It's been awhile since I purchased these cameras, I wanted to use them for a while to get familiar with the pros and the cons before I put a review out. Initially I ordered two sets so I could have eight cameras, of the two sets, two cameras would not charge no matter where you put them in the sun they would only charge through plugging them into the wall and then gradually losing charge over the days once they were mounted. Amazon worked with me on returning and replacing. The second order was to replace the initial two cameras and that order also had two cameras that would not hold a charge. I changed positions with them by swapping them with other Max Rangers that were getting charged throughout the day. I live in the Nevada desert and sun is not a problem out here. Finally after working through some of this frustration I ended up with eight working cameras. For me it was worth the hassle because we do not have the option of hard wiring security cameras on our acreage. My cameras were put up to watch over the property and the farm animals. I gave it four stars because of the initial headache. Swann was good at working with me, in directing me to extra solar panels that were compatible with this model. I wanted to have some on hand as backup so that this was never going to be a issue again when it came to keeping the cameras charged. Pros- if you can't have hardwired security cameras these have the best range and awesome clarity. I tried other brands of Wireless before these and they just could not compete with the swan Max Ranger. Nice images, nice video clips as far as quality, easy to set up software and Hardware. Cons- I feel the built-in solar panels are not large enough. Living in the desert and having access to frequent sunny days, there shouldn't be a reason to need backup solar panels. There's also a 5 second delay give or take when these cameras kick on when triggered. And notification has a little bit of a delay. Most the time you can see what triggers them off but once in awhile it gets missed. I feel that firmware might fix this in the future. The last con would be that you can only hook 8 cameras up to one hub so if you have a lot of acreage you have to buy more than one hub and manage more than one hub. All in all I'm happy with my purchase, I've been using them now for over 3 months and like that we have this security. I included a video clip of a coyote walking down our driveway so you can get an idea of image quality. And a picture from a night time capture. You do need wireless internet and it needs to be quality wireless internet. We use starlink and it works perfectly with this system.

The worst camera I have tested! I came from ARLO, after seeing them into JB-HiFi store and having told they are very good, I give it a try. totally unstable even with a good wifi. Detection works when it wants. AI detection feature (pay feature) is a total garbage! Solar panel are a joke. Was tested in QLD so the sun is there. Well stay away!

Best wireless cameras I have used to date and I use an Arlo system as well. I love that I don't need a subscription and it acts like a home security station and doesn't need the internet, as it saves everything locally, and security hub is amazing with its backup battery, and the cameras themselves are very good quality, and the solar panels work pretty good, just make sure they get direct sunlight for a decent amount of time, and they should help plenty. Only problem is, the software solutions provided aren't that great, the operating system direct from the hub is decent, but has a bit of a learning curve, and a steep learning curve for the non-techy types. The android app, is ok, not bad, and once you get used to it, it's pretty functional, it just feels weird coming from something like Arlos app, the windows version to day is a difficult mess, that I'm not having much fun with to date, but maybe it would be good if it would work properly. So, hardware= almost perfect And software= needs some work But overall the product still outdoes the other brands.

I had an initial concern as to whether the solar panels would keep the batteries charged but have had installed for around 2 months and solar panels have keep the camera charged. Video quality night and day is good. There is a little more lag than I would prefer but I can live with that. The base station connects with all the cameras despite some being quite a distance away

I cannot rate the product fully as I have not been able to set it up fully. The actual connection between the camera and the recorder was okay, but I continually get error messages when trying to pair the recorder with the phone app. it seems to me that one of the best features of the product is the ability to check cameras via the phone app. If I cannot use the phone app as expected then the product is not as advertised.
