Love it!
These are the coolest string lights I've ever seen! First off, the product feels incredibly high-quality. The light bulbs have a sleek, elegant look, and the cables seem durable and reliable. While they’re a bit heavier than most string lights, it’s totally worth it for the quality. You can easily control them through the app, and the built-in cozy mode is my absolute favorite. There are plenty of different scene options to explore, which adds a lot of fun and versatility. Overall, I’m thoroughly enjoying the impressive quality and the entertainment they bring. The only downside is that I didn't measure my patio beforehand, so they ended up being a bit too long for the space.

Water intrusion problems! Lazy software! Zero support!
I have several Nanoleaf indoor bulbs and for the most part, aside from the talked about software issues, they’ve been great. These outdoor lights are another story. Within 2 weeks of installing them I began to see condensation on the inside of many bulbs. Next I saw straight pooling of water inside but not just in the larger geometric bulb but the very small bulb housing that covers the actual led. I checked everything and it was all right and I could not see how water was getting in there. I sent an email, zero response. Sent three more. Zero response. I had to reset the lights multiple times due to this issue as some of the string wouldn’t light. Eventually they quit altogether and this was about a month after installing them. One of the LED chips had fried out from the moisture and they were done. Obviously I sent many more emails in every way possible that the company offers and to this day have not gotten any reply. They appear to be built well but they aren’t. I looked at reddit and saw many people posting about the same water issue and the same lack of response from CS. One guy even finally got them to replace a set only to have them die from water intrusion as well. These may be Chinese made but the company is Canadian. They should at least have decent support. Guess I blew $100 for nothing. It’ll be my last experience with the brand sadly.

10/10 definitely recommend
I really love having these lights in my backyard patio area, they make a huge impact on the ambience and look of the space when we’re out there in the evenings. We alternate between using plain white and using the animated colors and both look really incredible. I read the reviews here about app issues but I think they must have solved them in the latest update because I’ve had no issues at all with the app or the lights themselves. The preset colors are really nice, but I also like how easy it is to set my own colors and I’m excited to use them for the holidays for an easy way to transform the backyard. Overall 10/10 would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for great outdoor lights.

Best background light ever
I put these Outdoor String Lights on my balcony, and they’ve made such a huge difference! The quality of these lights is outstanding—they’re way better than the cheaper ones you see everywhere. The colors are so vibrant, and they really stand out. Plus, I love using the feature that makes the lights respond to music. It turns my balcony into the ultimate party spot. At first, I noticed a bit of lag when changing scenes, but I think the company addressed it with the update since. I’ve been using them almost every night, and they’re still going strong, even after some rain.

Cool lights but ruined by buggy, unstable app.
Lights are very cool and create great ambiance but I am unable to set scenes in the Nanoleaf app. Keeps telling me to add a device when it’s paired. Scenes will not sync to HomeKit so I cannot automate dynamic lighting effects. App always seems to close or crash in the background so every time you come back to it it has to load. I also have to constantly reload the app because it will prevent me from controlling the light and tells me I need to complete setup. In my opinion, look elsewhere if you plan to use with iOS. I wanted to love this product but it’s so frustrating to use especially for the price.

Quality hardware. Software has issues. Product support is non-existent.
I really wanted to love these lights! I really, truly did, but I was unable to. First, let me get the good stuff out of the way Once I got them out of the box, it was obvious they were very well made. The crystal like acrylic "bulbs" are beautiful, heavy, solid, and surely all but impossible to break. The wires and control box are solidly made, and have DIN style connectors with screw on waterproof covers. I was not pleased with the power block though, especially given it has some obscure Chinese brand name on it, not the products brand. This is always a red flag for me, but not the end of the world. Worse, it was a brick style adapter, plugging in directly to the wall itself, rather than one with a short lead and plug. This is not a good design for a product that will be used outside, where there are rarely more than one or two plugs available (if any). I happen to have an outdoor GFCI outlet with a weather proof cover, which I had installed recently. Unfortunately, it already has one set of low voltage path lights (which do have a 24" lead off their IP68 power brick. There is little room for more than two cords plugged into the GFCI receptacle box, which are them led through a silicone seal on the bottom to prevent water intension. As a result, there is NO WAY for the included power brick to be plugged in without an adapter extension, which would expose 120V to the environment. This would clearly be a bad thing in the rain or otherwise if water were to get in the adapter. This is a major design flaw and unacceptable in my opinion, so I took one star off for this. Next was the real reason I returned this product and will not likely consider this brand again. The app and set up was a bloody mess. It talks you to scan the QR code on the set up guide, install the app, and plug the strip in. I did so, and Android promptly saw the device using Matter. As the instructions said NOTHING about what to do at that point. I let Android set it up. It worked, and I was able to turn the light on or off, or change its color to a single color - default Google Home lighting control settings. However, I was not able to set any animations or anything, so I opened the app. It did not see the lights. I was confused by this as it made no sense. I tried to add it, and it didnt find it. I did find insteuctions on how to reset the control box by holding the power for 10 seconds, and that did work, and I was then able to add it to the app, but I was not able to ever get it to connect to WiFi. I went back and forth for over an hour, deleting the device from Matter in Home, and from the app, re-adding it one way or the other, in various sequences, over and over, and verifying I didn't have a brain fart and forget my network password, and on and on. I searched all over Google, the brand website, and so on. I did find SEVERAL mentions of people on Reddit and elsewhere who had similar problems. The thing that pushed me over the edge was when I tried to contact the company for support, and there is ZERO phone support, and chat support had some stupid messages that they were updating their systems and support would return in May. Well, it is May, so... Reddit comments were filled with complaints about not being able to get a reply via email support for two or three weeks, so I made the decision that at this premium price, if the company can't have premium support, VIA PHONE, then they do not deserve my money, and returned it. I want to add that this is not a unique experience with these Chinese LED companies. They all seem to be this way. The only company that has not being a massive pain in the but has been Hue by Philips, a Dutch corporation. Yes, I am sure their products are made in China, and that is fine, as long as the company stands behind their product with accessible support. Nanoleaf does not, and so this is likely my first, AND LAST, experience with the company.

Hands-down the best String Lights on the market
I’ve had String Lights for many years. I bought some from my local big Box orange store. If you know you know. At the time they seem to be the most high-tech that I could buy that had three color modes and the only way to get to them is to power them off and power them back on and that was OK. Then I saw Nanoleaf was planning on dropping theirs. Yes I’m a Nanoleaf fan boy. I have tons of Nanoleaf products. They just work and seamlessly these in conjunction with the permanent lights by Nanoleaf. Makes the house perfect when it comes to year-round, lighting and seasonal lighting super bright able to see it across the golf course. I can’t wait to spend winter nights out on the patio, enjoying the String Lights and all their different colors.

Water filled bulbs. Can't last through rain.
Complete product failure due to bulbs not being waterproof. I now have 1 working light on the whole string with about 8-10 bulbs filled with water. The lighting will stop at the first water filled bulb. So far several weeks of back & forth with Nano leaf with no solution. It's still under warranty. Every email takes about a week for them to answer & they keep asking me for more info or to try other solutions. The lights will never work again since their filled with water. This warranty is a joke so far. Not sure if I'll ever get a replacement. Buy Govee instead. You'll be much happier.
