Out of the Box, Read Instructions, Installed, Worked Perfectly
I was in the process of upgrading my home office computer system, which had an AMD M/P laptop, two USB hubs and thousands of miles of cabling and wires. The system was really slow and the laptop spent more time updating itself than in actual service for my tasks and projects. I was really getting frustrated! I inherited a Lenovo notebook, with a flooded key- board and was urged to replace the laptop with the Lenovo unit. So I repaired the notebook, purchased updated software, and the Amazon Basics Docking Station. The unit arrived in excellent condition and I then installed the new software into the Lenovo, including the driver package. I then reconfigured the entire system and literally cleaned my desktop of all the excess wiring and cables and made a really neat appearing system. I was apprehensive when I first started up the system, but the equipment booted up, all the peripherals connected and the docking station brought the video (HDMI) came right up in brilliant focus and color. The display (a 24-inch Seiko TV) never looked better, I can see all the details with no hazing, fuzz or any other distortion. On the hardware side, I had docking stations made by other manufacturers in the past, but gave up on them. They were either slow, like a lumbering dinosaur, or so lightweight that they kept tipping whenever I moved anything around. The Amazon Basic unit has a hefty feel to it and when I placed it, it stayed put. The appearance is total quality as well, with everything well marked, even to the type of USB connection nomenclature (USB2 or USB3) The power supply is rated at a 2.5-amp capacity, more than enough for all the stuff I have. The only fly in the ointment is the base, it slipped out several times before I adjusted the slip tabs, then the base clicked in and stayed mounted after that.I also have a single USB2 hub unit and an USB3 hub connected to the dock. The software self installed and all I did is follow the screen instructions, that's it.I highly recommend the Amazon Basic Docking station, it is well worth the price and a real bargain to boot. As to long term operation, if I have a complaint, I'll let you know.

Affordable and effective
If you need a basic item for your desk area to connect your cute setup on your desk area - this is a great affordable piece - I like have 2 usb ports - a lot of the ones on the market have moved to usb-c and I still have devices with usb so this is helpful if you need usb ports - good compatibility

Basically Plug and Play and it works
Bought this for my wife's work computer when she started working from home more. She's an engineer and needed the multiple screens and additional USB connections, not to mention the Gigabit network connection to her laptop (both work and personal). The setup was very straightforward for her HP Windows 10 Pro computer so that she has two desktop monitors as well as her laptop monitor, keyboard and mouse, 3D mouse (for CAD), wired network connection, etc ready to go. All she has to do when transitioning between office and home is plug her laptop in and she's set to go.The docking station can easily switch between use by her work computer, her personal computer (for graduate school studies), my netbook (when I want bigger screens) or other devices as desired. No issues with it, and we've been using it for over a year with no problems.

A good basic docking station...if you have basic power needs
This isn't a full review as I've only had this product since yesterday with my replacement docking station. If you don't have a million devices to connect to your laptop, this seems pretty adequate between 1 HDMI, 1 DVI (with VGA adapter - my DVI to HDMI cable works great), ethernet port, headphone/microphone jacks, and 4 2.0 USB and 2 3.0 USB ports. Everything's pretty easy to set up as per usual AmazonBasics product standards. As far as the price point goes, that's clearly one of the best features here as it gives great bang for the buck - if you want a more robust docking station from Targus or whatever other vendor, you're going to have to spend the money for it.The real reason for this review is to mention that the power of the station is perfectly adequate for most devices but Razer's fancy Synapse software pretty much killed my mouse/keyboard (the devices kept uninstalling/reinstalling every 20 seconds or so) as they required too much power than the docking station could muster. Once I uninstalled the software and plugged into a 3.0 docking station port and one on a laptop 2.0 (so the other 3.0 would work if that isn't an option for you), everything worked fine (2.0 docking station ports didn't appear to supply enough power to the Razer devices either, even after uninstalling the software). This likely isn't an issue limited to this Amazon docking station based on multiple messages about this issue at Razer's site, but just in case you happen to be the proud owner of Razer hardware and think your unit's defective, it might not be.I may revise this review in the future based on how well the station has panned out or not, but in the meantime, this is mostly to let people know that some of the higher-powered bells and whistles accessories out there might be a bit too much for the docking station (or maybe docking stations in general).

Great for Windows PC computers.
My Windows PC laptops work fine. Easy install and setup. The monitors connected to the hub are detected immediately. Piece of cake.Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for my Mac computers. The monitor is never detected. I have learned that this is a common issue experienced by Mac owners running Monterey OS.

The one that worked for me
I tried 4 different docking stations that would allow my partner and I (she using a 5-year-old Windows laptop and me using a 13-year-old macOS one) the swap in and out of each other's workstations as needed. All the rest made assumptions that didn't suit our older hardware, such as having a USB-C port for power. My advice is not necessarily to buy this docking station (although I like it a lot); it's to read the specifications very, very carefully before you buy any docking station. But this one is good, it suits us well, and it performs better than more expensive options.

Excelente producto
Instalación Plug and Play y no requiere de configuración extra. No me gustó que no tenga botón de apagado y los led indicadores quedan encendidos siempre. Pero muy buen producto.

It works like you expect it to, and that says a lot
I've had "universal" docking stations like this before, but they always had frustrating quirks. Video driver issues. A flaky audio jack that made everything crackle. It seemed wrong to need the docking station specific to my laptop, for 3x the price. After all, we're talking about gadgets that might add up to half the price separately - a USB hub, a headphone/speaker switch, and a couple of video adapters - the markup is for the convenience of putting these things in one box.On Prime Day I figured it was time to try again, and took a chance on AmazonBasics. And, it works. As transparently as if I'd bought all these adapters separately, with the convenience of one box. How they did it, I don't care and neither should you. Though it does seem a feat, considering it's probably made in the same factory as the junk the competition churns out. Until there are new adapters to worry about, this problem is solved. My laptop is a Surface Pro (v4, the latest as of Summer 2018) running Windows 10.
