On opening the box, the Mcbazel 3 in 1 Digital Plant Soil Moisture Meter appears to be well made. With the 3AAA batteries inserted (not supplied) it has a good weight and feels solid and sturdy in its construction. I used rechargeable batteries with no problem. The device is very simple to use, insert the two probes into the soil at about 2/3 depth, press the on/off button and then the measure button. The display flashes for several seconds and displays the pH, Moisture and Temperature all on the same screen. The display is backlit but a little difficult to read in bright conditions but this isn't really a problem since the data is held for about 30 seconds allowing it to be removed from the pot and read before it automatically turns off. Overall a good little device. It measures temperature and moisture with good accuracy but like any device with these types of probe the pH is inconsistent and variable. It's OK for a very rough pH measurement but I would not rely on it's pH accuracy. I bought it mainly for its ability to measure moisture and therefore happy with this device.

Great for keeping an eye on my plants It's a robust product that appears to be well designed. I like the size of the backlit screen, and the ease of pressing the buttons on the front. It's very straightforward to use - just put it in the soil and press "MEAS" and it will report back temperature, moisture content and pH within a few seconds. I have so far found that a couple of my indoor plants are in overly acidic soil and are probably over-watered. I have also found the soil my rhododendron is planted in outside is too alkaline.

My new favourite gadget! It tells me the PH and moisturiser level as well as the temperature of my soil. I use it in the garden and on my house plants. I dont have grass but you could use it on that. It’s an impressive piece of garden kit. Having said all that it’s definitely value for money

Would give zero if I could! Bought so we didn't over water the plants, put the meter in the first plant, said it was dry, so added some water and left it for a bit. Checked and it still said it was dry so added more water, next thing the plant was swimming, but still only showed 52% soil moisture, put it in another plant that new needed watering (soil fairly dry as id forgotten to water it)! The meter says the dry plant is wetter that the swimming plant.

Useful bit of kit, although the prongs are a bit flimsy.

Never had one of these before but purchased outdoor Gardenias which were not doing well at all. The soil tested OK according to research into the Ph but the plants are still failing. I hope the readings are accurate as I am distraught at the loss of these two plants which looking so healthy until re-potted from small nursery pots into forever pots. It is easy to use so hope I can have better results due to the fat that I can now get accurate PH results in every area of the garden and my potting composts.

De meter werkt fijn voor al mijn planten. Ik vind alleen het scherm te snel uit gaan, al na 30 seconden. Het wateren van mijn planten duurt langer met de meter doordat ik hem steeds opnieuw aan moet zetten.
